I got this email from MS today. It can be bad or good, depending on your situation. If you have all 5 M365 licenses in use and they all heavily use OneDrive, this is bad. IF, on the other hand (like my situation) I am the only one in the family really using OneDrive, then I basically got a boost from 1TB to 2TB.

In effect, though, it's basically MS taking back something that we've had since the inception of M365. My question is, what if everyone is heavily using their OneDrive and the sum of all the 1TB users' drives is more than 2TB? After all, MS constantly nags you to back up to OneDrive or move your photos, etc.

Fortunately, I'm good until May 2027, so I'll see if MS back-tracks or not.

Yeah I seen this, not happy about this at all. It looks like I'll be moving everything off of one drive in the future.
I do own and maintain my own nas. Nothing really beet the integration of OneDrive tho

How much more is the subscription going to be? I mean they already raised the prices by a lot to pay for all the new AI features they forced everyone to have

I just set up Nextcloud with Cloudflare to replace OneDrive and it seems pretty good.

I guess they're going to push those "heavy" users to their own accounts.
