Bought a bunch of these a few months ago. 25% were corroding in the box.

There are no guarantees in life except for the fact that these batteries will leak inside of your device.

Curious if you were being sarcastic or you really had a bad experience with batteries leaking. Sarcasm I get. If you DO have experience with leaky batteries, are they usually Duracell? Energizier better?

I don't pay much attention to brands, and buy when on sale but I've also had leaky ones too. Just haven't paid attention to which brand they were.

Modern Duracell alkaline batteries are absolutely awful about leaking. At this point, it's basically become a meme. Any brand of alkaline battery can leak, but it's now substantially more common with Duracells (and their rebrands like Kirkland). I highly recommend avoiding them (or else keeping some white vinegar on hand to clean up the inevitable mess).

Duracells were once great. Now my experience is that they're leaky trash with laughable claims about 10 year shelf life.

But for a battery that leaks so severely it should have a tiny drain tap on each one, nothing beats alkaline Eveready Energizers, The Destroyer Of Remotes.

Not the Lithium ones, which still seem to be high quality (with a price to match) and so far are still really good.

This is pretty much the everyday price at Costco - $19 for 40.

Never thought I'd see the day when a "sale" on AAA batteries, at almost 50 cents each, was considered to be a Slick Deal.

Long live NiMH rechargeables for those devices which are able (better yet, purposely designed) to operate optimally on the 20% lower voltages they provide. Yes, there are "full-voltage" rechargeables but that's a whole 'nother charging regimen. And, they are a bit "goofy" due to their internal electronics.

All I can say is that EVERY SINGLE duracell that I have purchased through Costco has damaged the devices they were left in. I will never buy Duracell again.

Duraleak. You're nuts if you use these.
