The issue I see with this is this. Say you are trying to hammer on an 1 1/2 nut and you are using the 3/8 to 1/2 adapter. There will be a lot of stress on that adapter.
Going from 1/2 to 3/8 won't have as much stress because the largest size socket in 3/8 drive is typically 22 mm. Which will not need nearly as much torque power as a 1 1/2 nut.
Milwaukee's M12 FUEL stubby impact wrench is drawing attention as a compact, high-torque option for tight spaces and general automotive work. The 1 2 drive version is favored for flexibility because it can step down to 3 8 sockets, while the 3 8 and 1 2 stubbies are described as essentially the same tool with different anvils. It is also seen as capable for wheel lugs and light suspension jobs when paired with the high output 5.0 amp hour battery. The main caveat is that this package does not include a charger, and adapter choice matters because higher torque can stress smaller adapters.
Mechanics working in tight engine bays, because the 3/8 version stays smaller with low-profile sockets and adapters while still handling common fasteners.
Shoppers who already own 3/8 sockets, because the 1/2 and 3/8 versions are the same tool with different anvils and the 1/2 can step down with an adapter.
The 1/2-inch version is easier to step down to 3/8 sockets with an adapter, while the 3/8 version is often preferred for tighter clearance and can be the better choice if you already own 3/8 sockets. Both are essentially the same tool with different anvils, so the best pick depends on the sockets and access you need.
No charger is included in this package. The deal is for the impact wrench and 5.0 Ah battery, so you may need to buy a separate M12 charger if you do not already have one.
It should handle wheel lugs and can do suspension work when paired with the high-output 5.0 Ah battery. For especially stubborn rust-belt fasteners, the tool may still struggle on some bolts, but it is reported to remove wheel lugs fine.
Yes, but a 1/2-to-3/8 adapter can add length and may snap under higher torque, especially on larger fasteners. A low-profile adapter or the drive size that matches your sockets reduces strain and keeps the setup shorter.
I sat and thought long and hard and was able to resist.. I already have a bigger and heavier ridgid which is basically the same thing just a heavier tool.. If I one day need 550 ft/lbs or more, HF has earthquake impacts for cheaper than this deal. This is a phenomenal deal but I don't have the immediate need for this tool so I will pass and save them for those out there that need this deal. I'm switching from maximalist to minimalist.. happy deal hunting to all
Already have a 3/8 stubby and a 1/2 high torque. I personally don't see why I would need this too, unless someone disagrees!
If you really use and know your equipment, you don't need to wonder.
Go build / fix something great with what you already have.
I see the same thing in photgraphy forums where people are asking which lens or body to upgrade but they hardly have any photos to show or the quality is subpar.

Are you guys able to put an order? I tried multiple cards but it says it couldn't process payment i thought it was my account. Then, i asked my brother to put an order on his account and it also shows the same.
These 1/2 and 3/8 stubbies are the same gun with different anvils from what I understand. So really just pick which one fits the impact sockets you already have.

I went for 3/8 because it seems like overall size will be much smaller with 3/8 sockets vs 1/2 impact with 3/8 adapter, and the 3/8 impact with a low-profile 1/2 adapter isn't much bigger than the 1/2 impact. Only concern I could see is if the smaller anvil doesn't last as long over time due to torque transmitted through less material.

For those trying to decide 3/8 or 1/2, I'd recommend 3/8.
1) 1/2 to 3/8 adapters snap all the time. The little 3/8" end just snaps right off on anything over 200 ft pounds. Torque Test Channel on YouTube confirms this.
2)get a set of low profile adapters. If you put a low profile 3/8 to 1/2 adapter it will add less than 1/2 inch to the tools length. It has also been tested that the low profile adapters lose significantly less torque than regular adapters.
3) get a set of 3/8 low profile sockets that go from 6mm to 24mm. Most 3/8 sockets go to 19 mm. These go up to 24mm so no adapters are needed and you will get the most power.
Number 3 isn't absolutely necessary as the low profile adapters do a good job of not lowering max torque that much, so you can just use 1/2 sockets. Check out recent video from Torque Test Channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIKlBb2aVW8
I also like watching the Legit Street Cars channel on YouTube. He disassembles so much of his cars with just the 3/8 stubby. In the end you can't go wrong with either 3/8 or 1/2.
Any recommendations on socket set for #3?

So less strain on a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter.

DIY suspension and rust-belt repair jobs, because the high-output 5.0Ah battery helps it get stubborn bolts off in cramped spaces.
Shoppers who already own 3/8 sockets, because the 1/2 and 3/8 versions are the same tool with different anvils and the 1/2 can step down with an adapter.
Drivers changing wheel lugs at home, because this stubby-class impact has enough breakaway torque to remove lug nuts without a bigger wrench.
People who need a charger included, because this package does not include one.
Technicians expecting a compact setup without adapters, because 1/2-to-3/8 adapters can snap under higher torque.
Owners who already have a 3/8 stubby and a high-torque impact, because this fills the same role instead of adding a new capability.
Heavy-duty users needing 550 ft-lbs or more, because this stubby class is not the right substitute for a larger impact.

I would use the tools you already own to plan how you can skillfully finish a high quality project.
