Equipped with Tri LED work lights to illuminate your work area without the frustration of shadows. 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL for greater precision and customization to your desired power output, including AUTO SHUT-OFF that applies no more than 15 ft-lbs of torque for hand-tight applications that prevent overtightening when in forward. In reverse, bolt removal mode will slow down the RPM once the bolt is free to prevent bolts from flying around your work area. To change the modes, it is a single-handed operation. Milwaukee's M12 FUEL stubby impact wrench is being treated as a handy compact driver for everyday fastener removal, and the bundle stands out because it includes the high output 5.0 Ah battery. The 1/2 inch version is favored for pairing with a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter, while the 3/8 version gets credit for being the more commonly reached for tool and for avoiding adapter strain. The package does not include a charger. It looks like a solid compact setup for typical jobs, with the drive size choice doing most of the deciding.
DIY mechanics doing routine fastener removal, because the stubby impact will do the job with the included high-output 5.0Ah battery.
Mechanics choosing a 3/8-inch stubby for tighter access, because it gets reached for far more often and can cover larger sizes with low-profile adapters.
Technicians tackling rust-belt suspension or other high-torque breakaway jobs, because the stubby can struggle on seized fasteners and may need a larger impact.
The 1/2" version lets you use a 1/2-to-3/8 adapter for 3/8 sockets, while the 3/8" version is often preferred for everyday use and can be paired with low-profile adapters or sockets. The 1/2" drive is better if you want to avoid stressing a 3/8-to-1/2 adapter on higher-torque jobs.
It should handle typical fastener removal, especially with the included high-output 5.0 Ah battery. For heavily rusted suspension hardware, a mid-torque or higher-torque tool may still be needed in tight spaces.
No charger is included in this package. The deal is for the 1/2" stubby impact wrench with a 5.0 Ah battery, so you may need a separate M12 charger if you do not already have one.
Yes. The bundle includes a high-output 5.0 Ah battery, which helps the stubby deliver more usable power for tougher fasteners than a smaller pack would.
I have both 3/8 and 1/2 and reach for the 3/8 just about 100% of the time.
Does this work ok for rust belt suspension work? I am debating on the 1/2" vs 3/8. I do have a Milwaukee mid-torque but that is a pain to get into some places since I don't have a lift.
I have a Dwalt Atomic 3/8" impact and while it is rated at 400 ft/lbs breakaway it could not get the stabilizer link end bolts off a 2012 Camry.

It will do the job but with a high output 5.0 battery.
For those trying to decide 3/8 or 1/2, I'd recommend 3/8.
1) 1/2 to 3/8 adapters snap all the time. The little 3/8" end just snaps right off on anything over 200 ft pounds. Torque Test Channel on YouTube confirms this.
2)get a set of low profile adapters. If you put a low profile 3/8 to 1/2 adapter it will add less than 1/2 inch to the tools length. It has also been tested that the low profile adapters lose significantly less torque than regular adapters.
3) get a set of 3/8 low profile sockets that go from 6mm to 24mm. Most 3/8 sockets don't work on bigger sizes. These go up to 24mm so no adapters are needed and you will get the most power.
Number 3 isn't absolutely necessary as the low profile adapters do a good job of not lowering max torque that much, so you can just use 1/2 sockets. Check out recent video from Torque Test Channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PIKlBb2aVW8
I also like watching the Legit Street Cars channel on YouTube. He disassembles so much of his cars with just the 3/8 stubby. In the end you can't go wrong with either 3/8 or 1/2.

The 1/2 stubby can be paired with a 1/2-to-3/8 adapter to run 3/8 sockets when needed.
The included high-output 5.0Ah battery is highlighted as a meaningful part of the setup for getting the job done.
The 3/8 version is reportedly more powerful than the 1/2 version even when both use the same motor.
The 3/8 drive is described as the go-to option when both 3/8 and 1/2 impacts are available.
The package does not include a charger, so charging gear must already be on hand.
Using a 3/8-to-1/2 adapter can add stress on the adapter during high-torque work.
1/2-to-3/8 adapters are reported to snap, and the 3/8 end is reported to snap off above roughly 200 ft-lb.
The stubby 1/2 impact may be debated for rust-belt suspension work, especially when other impacts have struggled with specific fasteners.
