Leveraging POWERSTATE Brushless Motor, The Stubby Delivers 0-3,000 RPM with up to 550 ft-lbs of Nut Busting Torque, allowing the removal of the most corroded and stubborn applications. This Milwaukee solution delivers on performance and size, at only 2.2 lbs bare tool. Users will experience less fatigue throughout their work week while fitting into tight spaces and allowing access where larger impacts can't fit without using additional accessories or disassembling components to reach the desired fastener. Equipped with Tri LED work lights to illuminate your work area without the frustration of shadows. 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL for greater precision and customization to your desired power output, including AUTO SHUT-OFF that applies no more than 15 ft-lbs of torque for hand-tight applications that prevent overtightening when in forward. In reverse, bolt removal mode will slow down the RPM once the bolt is free to prevent bolts from flying around your work area. To change the modes, it is a single-handed operation. By shifting the forward-reverse shuttle into neutral and double-tapping the trigger, you will be able to change modes effortlessly.

The issue I see with this is this. Say you are trying to hammer on an 1 1/2 nut and you are using the 3/8 to 1/2 adapter. There will be a lot of stress on that adapter.
Going from 1/2 to 3/8 won't have as much stress because the largest size socket in 3/8 drive is typically 22 mm. Which will not need nearly as much torque power as a 1 1/2 nut.
Milwaukee's M12 FUEL stubby impact wrench is drawing attention as a compact, high-torque option for tight spaces and general automotive work. The 1 2 drive version is favored for flexibility because it can step down to 3 8 sockets, while the 3 8 and 1 2 stubbies are described as essentially the same tool with different anvils. It is also seen as capable for wheel lugs and light suspension jobs when paired with the high output 5.0 amp hour battery. The main caveat is that this package does not include a charger, and adapter choice matters because higher torque can stress smaller adapters.
Mechanics working in tight engine bays, because the 3/8 version stays smaller with low-profile sockets and adapters while still handling common fasteners.
Shoppers who already own 3/8 sockets, because the 1/2 and 3/8 versions are the same tool with different anvils and the 1/2 can step down with an adapter.
The 1/2-inch version is easier to step down to 3/8 sockets with an adapter, while the 3/8 version is often preferred for tighter clearance and can be the better choice if you already own 3/8 sockets. Both are essentially the same tool with different anvils, so the best pick depends on the sockets and access you need.
No charger is included in this package. The deal is for the impact wrench and 5.0 Ah battery, so you may need to buy a separate M12 charger if you do not already have one.
It should handle wheel lugs and can do suspension work when paired with the high-output 5.0 Ah battery. For especially stubborn rust-belt fasteners, the tool may still struggle on some bolts, but it is reported to remove wheel lugs fine.
Yes, but a 1/2-to-3/8 adapter can add length and may snap under higher torque, especially on larger fasteners. A low-profile adapter or the drive size that matches your sockets reduces strain and keeps the setup shorter.
Glad i saw this. Just bought this for $206 during the sale that ran a few days ago. Reached out to customer service and they credited me the difference
I bought the $206 deal few days ago and went to HD for an adjustment. They told me only thing I can do is make a return and repurchase online. I do the return and go home to reorder at new price, but deal died. Now I'm back to square one. Oh well

Got it through the military exchange, with the discount and no tax it came to 165. I could not pass it up! Thanks OP! Now I wish they would discount the 3" polisher.

Eligible military exchange purchases can reduce the total cost with no tax and free shipping.
The 1/2 stubby option can step down to 3/8 sockets using an adapter for broader socket compatibility.
The 3/8 stubby setup can reduce adapter stress compared with using a 3/8-to-1/2 adapter on larger nuts.
The package can work for suspension and rust-belt tasks when paired with the high-output 5.0Ah battery.
This package does not include a charger, so an M12 charger is required to use the included battery.
Using a 1/2-to-3/8 adapter can risk snapping under higher torque loads.
A 3/8 impact may struggle with rust-belt stabilizer link end bolts on a 2012 Camry despite a 400 ft-lbs breakaway rating.
A 3/8-to-1/2 adapter can experience higher stress when driving larger nuts, which may shorten adapter life.
