I will never understand why everybody complains about SD quality in animation when it really does not make much difference whatsoever
I think most people just love to complain

If it didn't matter, why would they deviate away from 480p? Why didn't it stay that way?!

But this exists ONLY in SD. That's how it was created. There isn't anything higher than SD for it. Complaining about SD when HD exists, sure. But there are no options here. Am I mistaken?

Yeah, we need to see the blur of those SD lines with more pixels. GO HD!

Because anytime they can claim to increase the quality on something they can charge you for it again even if it does not actually improve the final product oftentimes making it worse
you can Google countless times where 4K releases of a product were horrendously worse
For instance there is a current deal going on today to purchase I Love Lucy complete series in HD but if you do research they used AI for the HD remaster and it is horrendous

It's all drawn. It can be made HD pretty easily nowadays. It's a lack of interest in spending a penny extra from the IP owners. Converting SD to HD or higher basically died when Paramount/CBS/Whatever lost millions on remastering Star Trek: The Next Generation to HD. No one want to pay for it, even with all the advances in remastering tools over the last 20 years.

Grab them all from archive.org for free and watch them whenever you feel like, even when Fanflix / Fandango inevitably shuts down
