Borderlands 4 at about $20 is being framed as a solid value for players who want the base game now, especially if they like the series and do not mind waiting on a fuller edition later. The Super Deluxe version includes the major DLC, and the new vault hunters, bounty packs, raid bosses, takedown content, and endgame additions get strong praise. Gameplay changes like gliding are welcome, but the new inventory system, missing mini map, forgettable story, and frequent glitches draw criticism. The Xbox disc version also has a digital claim feature, though it is console only and not Play Anywhere.
Common Questions (5)
If you want the full package, waiting for an eventual Ultimate or all-DLC version makes sense. The Super Deluxe edition already includes the major DLC, and the DLC areas and new vault hunters are part of what some players expect to want later.
It is often described as closer to Borderlands 2 than Borderlands 3, but some players say it does not feel much like a typical Borderlands game overall. The writing is also called worse than BL3, while the new vault hunters and endgame content are praised.
Yes, $19.90 is a reasonable buy-in for Borderlands 4 if you want to play now. Several comments place it in the $20 range as fair value, though one notes it may eventually dip to around $15 before rising again.
Yes, the Xbox version is Disc 2 Digital compatible, so inserting the disc can grant a digital copy to claim. It is not Play Anywhere, so the license stays console-only.
The game adds features like gliding, but some players dislike the new inventory system and missing mini-map. Technical issues are also reported, including teleport loops, random item appearance or disappearance, and loading problems.
