I've read that this one is more BL2 than it is BL3 (which is about the best thing one can say), but I know myself well enough to know that if I like this game I'm going to want all of the content (DLC areas and new vault hunters), so I think I'm gonna hold off until there's an ultimate deal for a reasonable price.

Borderlands 4 at about $20 is being framed as a solid value for players who want the base game now, especially if they like the series and do not mind waiting on a fuller edition later. The Super Deluxe version includes the major DLC, and the new vault hunters, bounty packs, raid bosses, takedown content, and endgame additions get strong praise. Gameplay changes like gliding are welcome, but the new inventory system, missing mini map, forgettable story, and frequent glitches draw criticism. The Xbox disc version also has a digital claim feature, though it is console only and not Play Anywhere.

  • The Super Deluxe Edition includes all major DLC content for extended play.

    dealseekinaddictpsyctto

  • The Xbox disc version can be used to claim a digital copy on the same console profile.

    theredwakeskaterAdamH4875

  • Borderlands 4 can feel worth around the $20 price point for some players.

    sicsavIlikecorn987

  • The new vault hunters and endgame raid bosses and takedown can be enjoyable.

    psyctto

  • Borderlands 4 can be glitchy, including teleport issues, random item appearance, and loading problems.

    WiseMorning8853

  • The new inventory system and missing mini-map can make navigation and management less enjoyable.

    WiseMorning8853

  • The writing quality can be worse than earlier Borderlands entries, which can hurt overall enjoyment.

    SharpBelieve296

  • The Xbox disc licensing can tie the digital license to the loaded profile, creating sharing limitations.

The tough part is do we buy now or hold out just a little longer.

How is this for those who enjoyed BL1, loved BL2, and enjoyed the gameplay of BL3?

Honestly, this is my price range to buy so I bought it. Thank you OP. 19 is reasonable. It could potentially drop to $15 on Black Friday but it can be hard to get at that price and then it'll rise to 19~25. I'm happy with $19

Without physical media you'd still be paying at least $35 even at PSN sales events.

what..?
you don't need to pay for PSN or XBL subscriptions to play a digital game you've purchased.

If you're not looking to play now, hold out for the "ultimate" version we'll eventually get in the next couple years that includes the DLC. Rumor is the DLC is decent for this one.

I bought it for $30. It was pretty boring. I loved the first few. I regret buying it.

Isn't that just the super deluxe edition that's available now? I bought it for $40 a couple of months ago. It includes all major DLC.

Personally this is the only Borderlands game I haven't finished. Imo it's not that good. BL1 will always be my favorite for the memories, BL2 is technically best, BL3 was a downgrade but had its moments, BL4 was very similar to BL3 with a lot worse writing

It's always the same answer. Is this a game that if you bought now you would play in the next 3 months? If not then your answer is to hold.
This is tempting for me but I still need to get to Tiny Tina that I bought years ago on top of other games.
Honestly, Epic has given away 2, Tiny Tina, and 3... so I am willing to bet at some point they will give away 4 if you can be patient enough.

Thank you and good point. I recently played BL3 a few months ago. I didn't purchase as I had the base game from a while back. I'm going to bite, I'll definitely play within the next 3 months. Thank you again

That's great, ain't no way this game will be cheaper on Black Friday so you can be confident this is the best price it's gonna be for at least the remainder of the year.
