This two person infrared sauna stands out for simple indoor setup and strong heat for the price. The built in electric heaters mean no external venting or ducting is needed, and the oxygen ionizer is meant to help with odors and allergens. It is reported to reach above 140 degrees Fahrenheit, with some similar units running comfortably in the 155 to 165 range after acclimation. The main caution is electrical, since the manual calls for a 20 amp dedicated circuit and installation may require an electrician. It is a solid fit if you have the space and power for it.

  • Homeowners adding a dedicated indoor sauna room, because it does not require external venting or ducting and is meant for a well-ventilated indoor space.

  • Buyers with a 20-amp dedicated circuit, because the unit is 1800 watts and the manual calls for that electrical setup.

  • Infrared sauna beginners who want a gentler heat-up, because it reaches above 140°F and can be run hotter after acclimating.

  • Homes with only standard 15-amp outlets, because the 1800-watt load may need a dedicated 20-amp circuit and an electrician.

  • Shoppers expecting a dry-heat sauna feel, because infrared heat works differently and may not get the body as hot.

  • Apartments or tight spaces, because the unit is heavy, takes up space, and is difficult to move once installed.

This doesn't need water, but does it need any sort of special venting? Could I put it in my basement? Maybe if it need venting, use the heater's vent / chimney? Anybody? The comments are all short and don;'t say a damn thing.

According to the information on the product page:
This indoor infrared sauna does not list a requirement for external ventilation or ducting. Its built-in oxygen ionizer is designed to help reduce odors and allergens, and the tempered-glass/hemlock construction is intended to retain heat and dry quickly.
Use it in a well-ventilated indoor room and follow the installation/clearance guidance in the operating manual.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

1800watts, manual calls for 20amp dedicated circuit. Just an FYI on if you think your outlet can handle it. most houses are 15 amp outlets that allow 1800watt surge but may not handle continuous. no idea if 1800 is continuous or surge on this item.

Data on infrared sauna isn't as good as dry heat sauna - just doesn't get the body hot enough.

My parents had a similar one and it required no venting or anything special.

i have one and it needs no venting. If you feel it does not get hot enough for you, get a small personal ceramic space heater and that will keep it toasty and you can only handle about 45 minutes or so taking 1 minute breaks every so often. Great sweat.

So I have something similar to this. There is a vent on top which you can slide open if you feel it is too hot. (we keep it closed all the time because it loses heat fast when there's a vent or the door is opened) if you look at the picture again, it's right behind the square light. You get an ionizer for air purification. I would only turn that on after you're done using it. This does not require water. It is heavy. (over 260 lbs) You will need two people to install. It does take up space (height too). You will sweat. It does require a bit of electricity (electric bill), but which sauna doesn't. I just don't like the space it took up and the weight because you can't just pick this thing up and move it. The price is great since the shipping is included.

I have an infrared sauna from Saunabox and it uses a tent instead of a wooden box. These types of sauna does not need to get super hot like traditional saunas do. Basically, you're sitting in a microwave, so your body gets heated up, while traditional saunas heats the air around you, and in turn heats you up. I do 20 minutes at 130C, and any higher or longer I feel like im going to die.

If the manual really calls for a dedicated 20 amp circuit, most people are adding an electrician to the $1500. Anyone have a rough idea what that runs?

Doesn't work the same, dry heat saunas heat you up from the outside in. IR heats you up from below the skin, works more like a microwave.

Have had a few put in, you are looking at at least $300-400 if it is close to your box. More complex the install the more $$. If you can do it yourself, just permit and materials, permits around me are about $50.

Although, you may want to check out https://getvitalplus.com/ . I have the tent version IR sauna, $700 right now and it works on a regular 15 amp ( https://us.getvitalplus.com/produ...d-infrared ). Gets to 149 degrees, it may not seem like a lot, but if you are new to IR saunas it is actually pretty brutal. It isn't fancy but it works well.

Depends how far they have to run the wire from your electrical panel. Also if your electrical panel needs to be upgraded (not likely for 1 20amp but it's possible) that's like 4-6k.For the 20amp line only it's just a couple hundred installed
