These are surprisingly good keyboards. I have the C64 one and it's one of my favourites in the collection. Really considering this one at this price as well, but recent other purchases have blown the nerd budget for a while. Really good deal.
The 8BitDo Retro 87 key mechanical keyboard stands out as a well built, satisfying typing board with Bluetooth, 2.4 gigahertz, and USB C support. The box white switches feel great, the switches are easy to swap, and battery life is strong on the 2.4 gigahertz dongle. The current price is far below past Amazon pricing, making it especially appealing for a backup or switch upgrade. The main drawbacks are the loud clicky sound, no number pad, and no black lighting, so it fits home use and desk setups better than quiet offices.
Mechanical keyboard fans who like box white switches, because the typing feel is satisfying and the switches are easy to swap.
It uses box white switches and is noticeably loud, so it is not ideal for a quiet office or for someone sitting nearby. It is better suited to home use if you want a satisfying clicky typing feel.
Yes, the switches are easy to swap, and the keyboard can also take silent switch upgrades if you want a quieter setup. That makes it a practical base for customization at this price.
A separate hand rest is recommended for comfort, and a keycap puller is not included. A 2-prong remover or tweezers work for switch removal, while a 4-prong puller does not.
Battery life is reported to be great when using the 2.4GHz dongle. That makes the wireless mode a strong option if you want fewer charging interruptions.
Was going to instabuy but showing 2 week delivery estimate wtf... its Sold & shipped by Amz, thats odd. Usually this wouldnt be an issue for me but Im travelling for 3 months next week, this wouldve been so clutch as I just sold my wired corsair keyb too

The deal will likely be back. It was this same price in late August when I grabbed one.
This is my work keyboard (I work at Nintendo), and I loved it so much I bought the full version to use at home. Best keyboard I've ever used. At this price I kind of want to buy another one for a backup
Its sold out, a fun keyboard.
4 key puller https://www.amazon.com/Keycap-Pul...ref=sr_1_4 (cheaper on aliexpress) not included but good getting out anything that falls in, and the key switches are removed with a 2 prong type remover or tweezer, the 4 prong doesn't work. the clips are on the bottom and top.

Mechanical keyboard fans who like box white switches, because the typing feel is satisfying and the switches are easy to swap.
Home typists who want a tactile board, because it is satisfying to type on and works well outside an office.
Gamers or desk workers who want long wireless runtime, because battery life is great when using the 2.4GHz dongle.
People building a compact setup without a numpad, because the 87-key layout keeps the footprint smaller.
Office workers sharing a room, because the keyboard is too loud and can distract the person sitting next to you.
People who want a quiet stock board, because the switches are loud enough that silent replacements may be worth installing.
Spreadsheet-heavy users who need a dedicated number pad, because this layout has no numpad.
Buyers who need a wrist-rest-free setup, because a separate hand rest is recommended for comfortable use.
