Because I can't and don't want to binge watch 42 episodes in a month. And I might like to rewatch it sometime. And the HBO Max plan that includes the ability to download costs more than purchasing this series. And It probably looks better from Apple because HBO uses a crappy bit rate.

This adaptation was quite good. There were a few weak episodes, but overall it was better than I expected and is rewatchable.
