If you get large appliances delivered costco is supposed to come and pick them up if you need a return. Not easy, but at least easier.

I love costco, but avoid the appliances like this. For example, new washing machines have a filter built into them. You'll notice there is no filter access on the front of the machine. They're trying to get you to call out a service call if the filter gets clogged. On my costco purchased machine I had to remove the top panel, the door, and the front panel to access the filter. Twice now. Next time I'm cutting a hole in the front panel because this is stupid. Don't buy a washer without filter access.

Costco didn't manufacture the appliance. They just sell them. You have a problem with the manufacturer and their engineering team.

Yes, that's why I started the entire statement with "I love costco". This product and the ones like it thought I don't like. It isn't just a single mfg, it's the culture of trying to engineer things to be more difficult for home users in order to drum up service calls. That's more of an MBA pushing a direction thing than just an engineering team thing.

Totally agree about the filter. I have a 6 year old Maytag front loader and I had to replace a damaged front gasket which required disassembly of the front of the unit. That was the first time I could get to the filter to clean it out in 6 years. Stupid design. It should be available from an access panel in the lower front.
