The Ninja Luxe Caf Espresso Machine is a versatile home coffee maker that handles espresso, lattes, drip coffee, and even cold brews, with automatic milk steaming standing out as a favorite feature. It is easy to use, easy to clean, and can deliver café style drinks that help cut coffee shop spending fast. Refurbished units have arrived looking nearly new and, in several cases, have run daily for months or longer without issues. The main drawbacks are its clunky workflow for switching settings and baskets, the large milk jug, and the fact that it cannot brew two cups at once. Warranty coverage on refurbished units is also a concern, so the short 90 day coverage is worth keeping in mind.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can arrive looking nearly new, with all accessories included and only minor cosmetic marks such as on the drip tray. Some buyers even received a different Costco model variant instead of the listed ES601.

  • Yes, it is generally described as easy to use and easy to clean, with straightforward espresso and latte prep. The main practical drawback is that making multiple drinks can take time because you may need to brew coffee and foam milk one at a time.

  • It cannot brew into two cups at the same time, and the milk jug and portafilter workflow can feel clunky for some setups. It works best for single drinks or a small number of drinks rather than fast batch-making.

  • Yes. It can brew espresso and regular drip coffee, and it also supports automatic milk steaming for lattes and other milk drinks. Several owners use it daily for both styles.

  • At this price it is a strong value if you want an all-in-one espresso machine, especially for frequent coffee drinkers. Owners report it can pay for itself quickly by replacing café drinks, but it is less compelling if you rarely drink coffee.

I prefer eBay deals with 2hr warranty for the same price.

Great machine. I bought one for my gf as a gift she loves cold brews. Was also new with all the sticky tapes.

i myself never use it because her settings are opposite than those for my lattes, it's a pita to switch back and forth the grind settings and swap portafilter baskets so I don't bother. Also the milk jug is huge and clunky and I hate handling it. I hate inserting portafilter and locking it in, it's pretty awkward I can't hold the whole machine as I wrench it in the way I do with my little one.

At my home I have a dedicated small Casabrews espresso machine and a grinder and I find them much easier and nicer to use although the actual amount of labor is the same but it feels like it's easier for some reason. I find Ninja to be very… clunky, super awkward and unwelcoming, idk… although it's all just a matter of habit I guess.

But… my gf loves it and that's all that matters
2hr warranty, damn. Better make all the coffee you can before the warranty runs out.

I never post on here but I wanted to say this. I bought a similar deal from woot on this item about a year ago. I had been looking to pickup this machine for awhile at costco. I have many coworkers and friends that have it and it is amazing. It makes the entire process of espresso easy and it tastes amazing. I was waiting for my yearly costco cash to arrive when this got posted and decided to take the jump saving about 50% on the store shelf price. Unit arrived and almost looked like it was brand new. Fast forward a few months and issue after issue started popping up. Eventually figured out something in the main board that controls the heating elements was shot. I am a pretty handy guy and like to tinker with things but unless you buy other for parts units you cant source parts for this. Thankfully I was able to convince Ninja to replace the base unit even though I didn't purchase it from an "authorized dealer". If I wouldn't have talked to someone who either didn't know what they were doing or was being super nice I would have been out the $250. If I could go back I would have just bought this from costco new to either have the ninja warranty or the costco backed promise.
I ordered one but this is what concerns me. Even at MSRP, I don't expect the machine to last a long time but I was hoping I can get at least 2 years out of it. Were you past the 90 day woot warranty when you contacted Ninja? Nice of them to replace the bad unit though.

looks good... has anyone used this machine and if so, what's your take on it?
I think that stopped me from buying this - you can't brew into 2 cups at the same time. The platform is too small

How does this compare to the 973 model. As a product manager and scrum master at a layoff round 6 company in big tech I demand answers and do not seem my own information.

I got this one and its premium version both Costco. Cut my coffee costs significantly since I no longer need to go out for coffee. Paid itself off in 6 months.

$250 is a great price
I must be a lame. I just buy those 120 count Keurig breakfast blend at costco on sale, I just bought 3 cases for 31.99 each, and the Keurig machine lol I bought off Facebook for 5 bucks. + 1000 count of 0 calorie Splenda from same club, and once a month, 5 dollar chobani vanilla from sams club.

anyway. monthly cost is like dirt cheap, I think 40 cents a cup.

my brother in law has one, he uses it every morning , he bought it brand new tho. I would had bought this one, but I purchased the Phillips expresso maker since it was on sale 2 months ago and the wifey uses it every morning.. If you are not into drinking coffee in the mornings, I would say pass on it, but if you decided to buy this one, I would suggest to add the extended warranty they sell through amazon since you only get 90 days limited warranty .
How to you add extended warranty from Amazon to a product purchased on Woot?

James Hoffman does a very thorough review of the machine here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkfXNE3mkXA

Although, he was reviewing a $500 new unit.
