This Gourmia 14 quart air fryer oven stands out for its roomy, multi level design, built in thermometer, and broad set of presets, with strong fan performance and easy cleanup when it is working well. It handles frozen appetizers, baking, dehydrating, and even yogurt well, and the size still fits comfortably on a counter. The main drawbacks are the finicky door sensor and switch, which can stop the unit from starting or trigger a close door error, plus awkward cleaning around grease, splatter, and the shallow drip tray. A solid feature packed oven, with reliability and maintenance quirks to watch.

I have two of these (two yrs old) bought on black Friday same price($50). They work well and are sturdy and the touch screen is flawless. There are tons of settings and a built-in thermometer. The fans work well. It's easy to clean. It has three rack slots and two racks.

The engineering(otherwise) is horrible. The handle will not allow the door to open flush to the counter. It sits on the counter at an incline. The oil tray is very shallow and it has to be pulled out (with oil) flatly. There's almost no lip to grab. The coating on the pan isn't very durable. The machine must be held while you shut the door or you have to slap/slam the door shut. The door jambs are grooved and they are hard (non silicone) plastic grooves. Same when you open. You have to pull fast or hold the machine. The cooking grates do not have a stopping point and they will fall out everything after halfway pulled out. You either have to put your food towards the door-front side of the grates or hold the grate as you unload your food or pull the grate all the way out. Everything that splatters to the door drips to the underside of the machine or countertop. There's nothing to block this. The bottom of the door jamb is nearly impossible to clean out. The cords plug is horizontal to the outlet so the machine needs to sit at least 4 inches from the wall to not destroy / short the cord. The fan works well, so it is relatively noisy. You have to empty the grease pan often and this machine isn't built for anything over 350° without having to smell the coating on the drip pan.

Gormia makes decent stuff, in general, but their engineers definitely graduated with a C average (in most regards) 🤷

I have this exact model for a year now, and I totally agree with your opinion.

This is the best air fryer design I have ever used. I already have two in storage or I'd buy another one. Best design out there, and routinely goes on sale for $50-60 if you keep an eye out.

One caveat: as with most appliances like this, never open it while it is running, the door switch runs full power and will arc over inside and burn out. A replacement switch is about $4 and easy to replace or bypass if needed.

I have French door version bought form Walmart. Kind of a hassle to maintain and keep clean which is why i usually try to avoid cooking raw meats if possible which cause grease stains. But it's good for frozen appetizer foods and baking. And multiple levels and amount of space in it is good

I had mine replaced under Gourmia warranty after the fan stopped working 6 months in. So just contact them.

Great comment, thanks!

Have you tried the dehydrator feature?

I'm looking for something cheap to make dog treat lol.

I got this same air fryer about 2 years ago on BF for $50. I love all the functions, the size (small enough for my counter), and built in thermometer. My wife often uses the dehydrate function to make yogurt and likes it even better than our actual dehydrator appliance.

That said, the door switch sensor on mine broke after about 15 months of use. Apparently this is super common. I found Amazon replacement parts for about $2 each, but they only last about 3-5 weeks before breaking again. I can now do the replacement in under 5 mins but this air fryer is quite frustrating.

For the owners in here, how bad is cleaning the rotisserie parts? That's the part that scares me off these

I also have this model and have had it for about 1.5 years. About a year in, the door sensor failed and it would not start stating the door was open but it was not. I contacted Gourmia and got a warranty replacement. I looked online and many people had this same issue and also fixed it themselves.

I got this model in February, and it lasted until May when the door sensor failed. Despite door closed, the error states door was opened and it would not operate. This seemed like a common issue, and I've tried some YT fixes but it would not work still.

I contacted customer service, and within a day of email exchange and sending them a pic of the cord cut, I had a new one shipped out to me. Needless to say, their customer service was exceptional.

Same issue, but instead of replacing that part I just taped the two wires together completing the circuit. So the machine always sees the doors closed even when opening which isn't an issue to me since a regular door oven can open while it's still on.

If you have any mechanical skills you can open it up and tape two wires together to complete the circuit which will fix the issue but the oven stays on even when you open the door. There are youtube videos on the internet showing the fix and probably step by step directions on websites as well. It was a fairly easy fix for me.

The parts themselves aren't an issue. But inside the oven cleaning is the issue. You will need to tie the bird up. I've done it without but it's all over the place and messy Wink These days I just put the chicken on the rack instead.

Reading the comments makes me realize this is why it's a $50 product.
