I bought this in late March for a similar price. Not a great beanie: it is very long, about 1½ inches longer than my other beanie (which fits fine), the Giro SPF30 Ultralight Skull Cap. Because of its excessive size I have to fold up the rim to get it to an acceptable size. I guess I have about a medium sized head, but maybe this size is suitable for Andre the Giant or something.

A longer cap would actually ensure full coverage of the ears, which is the part of the head most sensitive to cold.

I don't see this as being useful for warmth - it is very thin and made of a moisture wicking material. I think it's used for situations in which you would sweat heavily or to put a buffer between your head and the helmet pads because it's a lot easier to clean a beanie than it is to clean helmet pads.

Of course, I'm referring to using this for cycling.

ah, I'm a cyclist too and use a beanie under my helmet during the winter. I find it's better to have the option of adding a second layer on top as needed, rather than having just one thick beanie that's great on really cold days but a bit too much on milder days. True with clothing layers too. On truly cold sub-freezing days I use an insulated baklava under my helmet and look like a terrorist on wheels, lol

Sounds like it's really thin and wicking from the comments. More of a helmet liner or running beanie than a real winter one
