I bought this last time it was this price and while I haven't opened it the 100 servings claim is dubious at best. It's cheap and long lasting enough to keep on hand but I wouldn't expect much from this.

Good information. Is there a better shelf-stable product of this quantity for this price or less?

25 years. Otherwise, you better hope the apocalypse is imminent! 😃

Just remember that 25 year shelf life all depends on stable storage temp and humidity factors. It will spoil faster with wide swings. My recommendation is to buy shelf stable meats or proteins. Buy what you eat, stock up when on sale, rotate as you go. If you don't have potable water or a heating source these aren't going to help much. I have a mix of these kinds of things and canned food for shorter emergencies. I'll use up those first before digging into the dehydrated and freeze dried stash.

I don't judge anyone who gets these Readywise food buckets to immediately have some emergency food stores on hand. Same goes for similar products sold by Augusan Farms, Ready America, etc. A more nutritionly complete option would be something like Mountain House or similar freeze dried meals that offer much higher protein content, and also have similar 25-year-ish self lives. But they're more expensive. The less expensive alternative is self stable goods from your local grocery store: canned vegetables, beans and proteins (tuna, chicken, Spam, etc) along with boxed goods like rice, pasta and various dry mixes like Rice-a-roni, Tuna Helper, Zaitarin's rice and bean mixes, etc. Those can have up to 3-5 year shelf lives. As long as you are disciplined enough to rotate them every few years, they're the most economical way to have an emergency food store on hand. FEMA and other government disaster readiness agencies recommend having at least a 72 hour supply of grab-and-go, shelf stable food on hand. But I think families should be thinking about at least a 2-week supply.

Anyone who writes off this type of sensible, real world disaster prepartion planning as doomsday prepper-fantasy thinking hasn't been paying attention to current events over the past 5-10 years. Plenty of recent real-life examples right here in our country, let alone other parts of the world. They're fantastical never-could-happen-here scenarios until they suddenly occur in your community.
