This 512GB SanDisk GamePLAY microSD Express card is aimed at Switch 2 storage, and the big draw is that it is a true Express card that the console requires. The Costco price lands below several major retailers and looks strong versus recent Express card pricing, especially for 512GB capacity. It also matters that regular microSD cards and non Express cards will not work for Switch 2 games. A known Costco shipping website issue has also been reported, and one test run failed during h2testw, so the card may be worth checking carefully after arrival.
The card is described as compatible with Switch 2 because Switch 2 requires a microSD Express interface.
The comments explain that Express cards meet specific read and write speed requirements that many regular microSD cards cannot.
The comments suggest Express pricing has stayed higher than standard microSD, making the $89.99 Costco price look comparatively reasonable for 512GB Express.
The deal is positioned as cheaper than major retailers like Amazon, B&H, Micro Center, and Best Buy while still being sold directly by Costco.
The comments warn that regular microSD cards will not work in Switch 2 because Switch 2 requires a microSD Express card.
The comments note that compatibility depends on meeting specific read and write speed requirements, so slower cards may not satisfy Switch 2 needs.
Customer service reportedly treated a shipping error as a known website issue and only advised trying again later.
Testing reportedly failed the first h2testw run, with very long write and read times and errors appearing around the first hour.
