Anyone use these for base layers for skiing? How do they compare to smartwool?

i've been wearing these for a few years now while doing yard work in the late fall / winter.. i must say, they aren't that great. they barely provide any additional warmth, IMO.

It's not wool at all. Description says:
40% Polyester | 34% Acrylic | 22% Rayon | 4% Spandex

Costco sells the "lightweight" version of these base layers.
You can get the midweight and heavyweight versions directly from 32-degrees website (currently $7.99/each): https://www.32degrees.com/collections/baselayers.
Last year they were selling all their base layers for $6.99/each during the holiday sales, not sure if they'll do so again this year.

FWIW, these compression pants and shirts provide enough warmth for me in California winter weather. And great to wear underneath jerseys for sports

I wear these for most of the winter in the Northeast, they get the job done with keeping some body heat but not getting too hot. If I'm going to be idle and outside I opt for a thicker waffle pattern thermal under my clothes. I hang dry these and they dry quickly. FYI to anybody with pets these catch dog hairs really easily and sometimes can be a pain to remove, even after washing they tend to stick.
