The Energy ESW C10 is a modest 10 inch powered sub that fits best with budget speaker setups and gaming, where even a basic sub can add enough low end to round things out. It is described as not too bad for the price and a sensible match for sub 1000 complete speaker packages, with easy integration through a preamp or streamer that has subwoofer output. The main caveat is that it is widely framed as underpowered and a dead end compared with stepping up to an RSL 10e, RSL 10s, or other stronger alternatives. For shoppers staying in this price tier, it is a functional but limited option.

  • The sub can work as a basic addition for PC gaming setups with KEF speakers.

  • The sub may be a sensible match for sub-$1000 complete speaker packages from Slickdeals.

  • The sub can integrate with a preamp or streamer using subwoofer output or amplifier pre-outs.

  • The sub may deliver acceptable perceived performance for its price when expectations stay modest.

  • The sub is described as underpowered and a dead-end upgrade path that will not fix poor speakers.

  • The sub is criticized as not worth buying at this price range compared with alternatives like RSL 10e.

  • The sub is framed as limited for music because rear-ported alternatives may integrate better depending on room placement.

  • The sub is discouraged as an upgrade because better value options exist in the same budget tier, including other powered subs.

this sub good to go with some kef speakers for pc gaming
For gaming, sure. Just about anything will do for gaming. Even that $89 Jamo sub that goes on sale every other month or two.

Depends on several things: Budget? What % usage is gaming vs movies/TV vs music? Room size?

WIth a pre-amp/streamer like the Wiim Ultra which has its own subwoofer output along with the amplifier pre-outs to hook up to the JBLs, or something like this: https://hsuresearch.com/collectio...ass-filter

The ones that I would consider, in order of increasing quality/performance and price:
  • dayton audio cs1200, new 239, or open box 192 (when they have stock, looks like none currently) (@parts express .com, and to some degree @amazon)
  • rsl 10e, 339 (@rsl speakers .com)
  • rsl 10s, 499 (@rsl speakers .com)
The RSLs can be had for varying amounts less when they have some in stock in their "Encore Store" (like new, or blemishes, etc -- none in stock currently), or via group purchase ("power buy") when they have enough stock and offer that option (maybe at bf/thanksgiving).
None of those are at the same price point, they're all more expensive

Midsize living room, music, 500 bucks... maybe the Svs 3000 micro? Since is in the living room I prefer something nice.

Be careful buying anything from Adorama. I bought a guitar from them that arrived in worse than factory second condition and they charged me shipping and restocking fees to return it. They don't stand behind their products.

That's why I said, "that I would consider" not "at the same price point". They're "close" (close being relative of course. But then so is "at the same price point"). It's "worth considering" going up from 169 to 239 for an (arguably) better sub. If it's still outside what one is willing to spend, then it's not worth buying. But it's still worth considering.

The vented RSL 10s would slaughter the gimmicky sealed 3000 Micro while costing $500 not $1000. Don't believe all the online shills hyping up the Micro. With subs, size does matter... simply the laws of physics at work. You can please your EYES, or you can please your EARS. Doesn't matter how much $$$ you throw at the problem.

For that budget and for music I'd hurry and go get that Used-Like New SVS SB-1000 Pro on Amazon for $490. The RSLs are rear ported so they have to be pulled away from the wall and won't usually integrate as well for music, and don't hit as low. Also, if you don't like it RSL is keeping $50. The RSL shill won't tell you that.

Their REvolution series is incredible!
Significant jump from their prior models.
For the size, the Micros are remarkable!

I run dual SB3000s, no contest compared to the RSL10e/s.
You have to jump to their 12s, even then anything above 18hz still no contest!

With their great warranty/CS, you can give it a try
, doesn't work, cost you nothing!

LOL I thought you were an REL salesman? Or did you get fired and now work for SVS too? 🤣 Congrats, SVS is the lesser of the two evils...unlike REL they actually do have some really good subs in their mid and top tier lines, rather than sucky girly subs all the way across. 😆😆😆
