The colors (red, yellow, green) correspond to the cut types, and Kobalt's brand color is blue. Hope this helps.

These are much cheaper at Menards and you don't have to get Flocked by Lowes.

Not a good price and poor merchant reputation

These are great for cutting/destroying metal credit cards when they expire.

Thanks for explaining the blue - Personally I could have gone without that. Maybe a pro might appreciate a distinctive colorway to ID their own, but I'll stick with a solid scheme.

I recently got a pair of right angle cutters… I thought they would cut curves… But they seem to just cut straight like my straight ones do rather than any curving advantage… Is this normal? I read some stuff that the angle is more just where the scrap peels off to, but I didn't quite understand.

You can cut straight with either right or left aviation snips so in that respect it's normal. Being right angle or 90º is just where the handle is and allows you to work in tighter spaces. You can get those in left or right direction as well. Whether it's left or right does play a role in where the scrap comes off and allows the scrap to peel away without damaging or deforming the piece you intend to keep. You can pretty much make the same cuts with each if you can freely approach the material from either side and top or bottom. It's probably more useful to have both when you can only approach from one direction and you don't want to deform the material.

Try getting a piece of scrap and sketching a few identical curves and then cutting them from both directions and then flip the snips and do it again.

The colors dictate what type of cuts you're getting. Left handed, right handed, center cuts. The common BLUE is just Kobalts color.
