In ear models are far better.
When does this matter? When you have someone registering 103' and then 105' and then 102' so you call EMS and they tell you that your thermometer is not very accurate.
$250 house call. Not a slick deal.
I always measure twice now. In ear.
Also don't buy an expensive Kinsa thermometer either. They try to force you to use an app to use the thermometer.
