I've been using this as you asked (2 to be exact) to move hot air out of my garage. It's been working well and have no complaints.

Is this the same unit Home Depot sells or a Tractor Supply exclusive model? Curious if the housing is any different. Either way 600 CFM for $60 from a name brand is solid, bought one for drying the basement.

It is not very loud. I just got one last week. It's also the weakest one of these I've ever owned. OK for bedroom, not OK for blowing leaves out of grass. Get one with more CFM.

FWIW, dewalt parts with an X in the prefix letters are made by an OEM other than SBD. In this case, Alton Industries. I believe they make most or all of their shop vacs as well.
