The major issue is Skyrover might get permanently banned since it is said the drone is DJI parts under a different name. So FCC could remove their previously given authorization. With the current drone situation in the US, I honestly don't know which is the best drone to get.

I am eyeing the potensic atom 2 which I believe is facing less issues compared to DJI.

DJI is under scrutiny, not Skyrover. Unless you can demonstrate that they are looking to also ban Skyrover, that is just made-up information, regardless of Skyrover being a company under DJI.

Technically all the foreign drones are now under the covered list. But with Skyrover, i read in so many places, it is DJI disguised under a different brand name

If this was the rc with screen version then it is an excellent deal! Also there was a YouTube video of someone modifying a mini 4 pro extended battery and got this to take. It was tricky but it worked and gave this drone a much longer flight time. I also heard the mini 5 pro battery would also work again with the right physical modification.

This is essentially a mini 4 pro standard battery combo rc controller package. Good deal for those getting into drones.

I own two of these, but I have one with the screen controller (RC2 clone). It's 100% a DJI Mini 4 Pro with slightly different styling and different battery geometry. Aside from the non-existence of a "plus battery" that fits these, they're a fantastic deal versus the Mini 4 Pro. I was going to buy a Mini 5 Pro, but with the lack of DJI Care Refresh and the reports of propeller issues, I started looking at the 4 and eventually got here. For the price of a Mini 4pro, I got two drones, six batteries, two chargers and a backup controller I can use with my phone if the screen one has an issue. Buy direct from Skyrover for the free care plan, micro SD and other addons.

They will never revoke authorization for drones already purchased by consumers. Can they prevent them from selling more? Sure. See how that worked with DJI. Grey market drones are available readily online. I actually hope they revoke auth so they clear out batteries and accessories and I can score them cheap.

These people act like their drone with magically drop out of the sky....**if** this hypothetical even did occur. Not to mention, AliExpress is a thing for OEM replacement parts. that supply will suddenly appear if the US direct market were cut off. Moreover, 3rd party parts options shouldn't be a concern either, especially considering how many Skyrover parts are directly interchangeable with DJI.

I also think the other users mindset of going with a lessor drone doesn't make sense today, based off a what-if that likely will never occur someday in the future. I've heard good things about the Atom 2, but rarely that it is as good as a Skyrover for the $.

FWIW, I have the S1 model, love it. Amazing range and controls. I do wish I had the night mode the X1 has.
