I have Wyze and Ring cameras at my own house, both with subscriptions. I'm looking at cameras for another location. Is Tapo without paying for cloud storage comparable to using Wyze without a subscription? Any benefit of Tapo vs Wyze?

I got rid of all my Waze cameras and replaced them with Tapo and have been very happy, and so has my wife (high bar). I'd recommend them.

same here, especially if RTSP is important to your setup.

I've had 2k C320WS camera under an eave for my driveway for about four years now and it's been good. It has local SD card storage and the app has been decent. I'd buy another if needed.

They finally just enabled RTSP with the latest firmware. I have two v4 cameras and tested the RTSP feature and it works.

We have two Tapo devices and love them both! One is a video doorbell (similar to Ring) powered by the house wiring, and the other is a solar-powered camera. The solar one records continuously at 1 fps and automatically jumps to 30 fps when it detects motion. We used to have Blink cameras, but they missed too much motion and eventually stopped working after 5 or 6 years. Now, we're actually switching my mom's setup from Wyze to Tapo as well because of Wyze's subscription price increases.

This one, I don't think has continues recording. Continuous requires more power, which you could have with wired cameras and solar powered ones. Otherwise if it is battery powered you would need to replace/recharge the batteries too quickly.

Ah , it seems this one is corded too, I have just read the specs but didn't see anything about continues recording. Ask that question on Amazon Q&A

Same old story with this staff post. $25 was the price for these until very recently. So many people here are duped into thinking that this is a slick deal.

Do you run your own NVR set up or do you use some kind of NAS to do the ai detection etc?
