This LG C6 OLED evo is being discussed as a bright 4K gaming TV with a native 120 hertz panel that can reach 165 hertz with variable refresh rate. The picture quality and gaming performance are the main draws, and the set includes a physical microphone on and off switch. Pricing looks better through the LG Partner Store, where it is listed at $899 and can drop to $809 with the EARLYBF10 code. The main concern is privacy, with repeated claims about microphones, telemetry, and the TV continuing to connect unless it is blocked or unplugged, so many setups lean on an external streaming box and tighter network controls.

Common Questions (5)

  • It can continue trying to connect and may send stored data once a network becomes available again. A practical workaround is to keep it blocked at the router, only unblock it for updates, then re-block it.

  • Yes. The LG Partner Store was reported at $899, and with the EARLYBF10 coupon it showed $809 in cart at checkout, which is below the $999.99 deal price.

  • Using an external streaming box is a common workaround if you want to avoid the TV's built-in UI and keep the TV mostly offline. The panel can be treated as a display while the streaming client stays on the external device.

  • Yes. The set has a physical on/off switch for the microphone, which lets you disable it at the hardware level instead of only through software settings.

  • The panel's native refresh rate is 120Hz, and with VRR it can reach 165Hz. That makes it a better fit for high-refresh gaming setups than a standard 120Hz-only TV.

There is more than one mic and they already tested that on gamers Nexus. You cannot disable the other one
There is no reason to update ever really. Of anything my os has showed down a good amount over the years from the updates.

You can turn a phone off. This thing listens even when it's off unless you unplug it.
The fact you really think your phone isnt still recording your location and letting you be tracked while off is extremly naive of you lol

Can you update via USB? Does it work this way? Can anyone report success or failures updating with USB instead of Wifi?

Am I missing something with this Amazon vs Costco choice? Seems like Costco, if available and have membership, is better deal?

Is this the new RGB TV with near OLED level contrast but is technically an lcd?
It was last year, so just the regular flagship Bravia 9, not the Bravia 9 II (2026).

I can only imagine the new version, but mine is excellent and has the Best Buy 5yr warranty. I'm a huge gamer and it's plenty fast (despite it not OLED fast). I have the PS5 Pro, Series X, Switch 2, Steam Machine. The brightness is out of this world.

The 120hz is the native refresh rate and with VRR it can go to 165hz. I was confused at first as well.

They are the same technology. And nvidia has supported AMDs vrr for quite a while now
