I have both but W+ on my name and Sams+ in SO's name, so can't link them for refund 😂
Edit: just linked both accounts from W+ app. All it asked was Sam's Club login/pwd and issued refund for prorated W+ membership. I had used Amex offer for W+, so Amex may take back the credit but I'll still get some back. So that's a win.
Community Reviews
This bundle ties Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus into one annual membership, and the main draw is getting both perks with a simple account link and, in many cases, a prorated refund on the unused Walmart+ portion. The linking process is often described as quick through the Walmart or Sam's app, with some accounts showing instant access and refunds ranging from a few dollars to much larger amounts. Pricing can be inconsistent, though, with some seeing the advertised add on price while others are quoted much higher charges or lose a separate renewal offer. It also appears to conflict with some existing discounts and billing setups, so the final cost depends heavily on account timing and eligibility.
Common Questions (6)
Linking the accounts can trigger a prorated refund on the membership being replaced, but the amount depends on how much time is left. Several reports show refunds ranging from a few dollars to about $95, and the new bundled plan then renews on the later of the two renewal dates or at the bundled annual rate.
The advertised add-on is often $22, but several checkout screens show higher prorated charges such as $47, $48, $51.55, $53.11, $58 plus tax, or even $109/$120 depending on eligibility and remaining term. The final amount appears to depend on your current membership status and renewal timing.
Yes, if you already have Sam's Club Plus, Walmart+ can be linked at no extra cost in some cases. The process is done through the Walmart or Sam's app/site by signing in and linking the accounts, and it can complete immediately.
The bundle is auto-renewing, and the Sam's Club side can be refunded before renewal in some cases. One practical concern is that linking can tie the memberships together for renewal, so canceling before the next billing date matters if you want to avoid another full-year charge.
It may not work cleanly with the Amex monthly Walmart+ credit setup. The bundle terms indicate that after linking, American Express statement credits no longer apply, and the Walmart+ benefit becomes part of the annual bundled plan while Sam's Club is billed in full.
The comments do not show a confirmed extra-member benefit for the bundle. Questions about adding a second person were raised, but no grounded answer in the thread confirms that Walmart+ gains an additional household member from the Sam's Club link.

I tried linking the two off the announcement page in OP and it wanted to charge me $120/year. So the deal isn't really gonna work for Amex Platinum members, since the WM+ offer is for monthly payment, not annual payment. Too bad, woulda been a nice side perk to get a sams club membership for only an extra $22 a year.
I'm in a rural area, so other memberships like Target 360 and Kroger Boost are basically worthless. And Costco is way too far away to make it a regular trip. I've gotten my money's worth out of both Walmart and Sam's Club Plus memberships, but I did sign up for AARP a while back to get discounted Walmart+. But hey, I'll take free!
