I have both but W+ on my name and Sams+ in SO's name, so can't link them for refund 😂
Edit: just linked both accounts from W+ app. All it asked was Sam's Club login/pwd and issued refund for prorated W+ membership. I had used Amex offer for W+, so Amex may take back the credit but I'll still get some back. So that's a win.
Community Reviews
This Walmart and Sam's Club bundle mainly adds convenience for people who already use both memberships, with account linking often activating Walmart Plus right away and sometimes triggering a prorated refund on the existing Walmart Plus plan. The combined program is described as a $120 annual setup, and the upgrade can be as little as $22 only in some cases, depending on current renewal timing and whether Walmart Plus is already discounted. The main catch is that pricing is inconsistent across accounts, with some seeing much higher charges or losing existing promo rates. Linking can also affect Amex credits and other subscriptions, so the math needs a careful check before proceeding.
Common Questions (5)
Yes, Sam's Club Plus members can activate Walmart+ at no extra cost by linking the accounts. The Walmart+ benefit then follows the Sam's Club Plus membership term unless the accounts are canceled or renewed separately.
The advertised add-on is as little as $22, but the actual charge is prorated based on your current membership status and renewal timing. Some accounts show much higher amounts, such as $48-$58 or even the full $120, especially when a discounted Walmart+ rate is already in play.
Yes. Linking the accounts can trigger an immediate prorated Walmart+ refund, and the refund amount depends on how much time is left on the current plan. The process is done through the Walmart or Sam's app by signing into the other account and confirming the link.
Usually the accounts need matching login details, especially the email address, but some users were able to link by logging into the primary account or by entering the other account's Walmart credentials. If linking fails, matching the phone number and email on both accounts is the most reliable fix.
Yes. Linking can stop American Express statement credits from applying to Walmart+ because the combined plan is billed annually through Sam's Club Plus instead of as a monthly Walmart+ charge.
