I have both but W+ on my name and Sams+ in SO's name, so can't link them for refund 😂
Edit: just linked both accounts from W+ app. All it asked was Sam's Club login/pwd and issued refund for prorated W+ membership. I had used Amex offer for W+, so Amex may take back the credit but I'll still get some back. So that's a win.
It does remove the annual dance of making a new account which isn't worthless, but I'm not sure it's that amazing of a slickdeal. Great for set it and forget it folks though.
Edit: reading it again, it seems like the play is to make WM+ your "main" by adding on Sam's for $22, then hope that you can still get the occasional $49.99 base renewal offer when canceling. It sounds like if you link existing accounts for both then Sam's becomes your main at $120/year, and I haven't personally seen discounted renewals when canceling with Sam's.
Community Reviews
This bundle ties Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus together, with the strongest appeal being that existing members can often link accounts and get the other membership included or prorated. The linking flow is usually done through the Walmart or Sam's app, and successful activations have triggered refunds ranging from a few dollars to much larger prorated amounts. The main catch is that the price can vary by current membership status, renewal timing, and account setup, so some checkouts show far more than the advertised add on amount. Email mismatches, secondary accounts, expired memberships, and Amex monthly credits can also block or complicate the process, making it a useful but finicky combo.
Common Questions (5)
The add-on is advertised as "as little as $22," but the actual charge depends on how much time is left on your current Walmart+ term and whether you're on a discounted rate. Some accounts show a much higher prorated amount, while others only pay a small difference before the next renewal date.
Yes. Linking the accounts can trigger a prorated Walmart+ refund, and the refund amount depends on how much time is left before renewal. The process is done through the Walmart or Sam's app/site by signing into the other membership account.
Yes. Existing Sam's Club Plus members can link their accounts and get Walmart+ included at no additional cost, and the Walmart+ access ends when the Sam's Plus membership ends unless renewed.
The most reliable path is to start from the Sam's or Walmart app, then sign into the other account when prompted. Matching the email addresses and using the primary Sam's account can matter; some accounts also need the Walmart login tied to the same email or an invite flow to complete linking.
No, the monthly Amex Walmart+ reimbursement does not combine cleanly with the annual bundle. Linking can also stop the Amex statement credits from applying, so the credit may be clawed back or no longer work on the linked plan.

Update--nvm, stupid me assumed all this time that I was the primary member for my regular Sam's Club membership; somehow I had forgotten that my wife signed up for it long ago and added me as a secondary member. Was able to link my Walmart account to her just-upgraded-to Sam's Club Plus account and now we have both Sam's Club Plus and Walmart+.
TIL that you can tell if you are the primary Sam's Club member by looking at your membership number--if the sixth and seventh digits are 1 and 0 respectively, then that means you're the primary member; any other combination means you are a secondary/additional member. My wife's number has 1 and 0 in those two spots, whereas mine has 2 and 1 in those two spots, which jives with my wife being the primary member (and thus being presented the option to link a Walmart+ account) and I being the secondary member (and thus not being presented with the Walmart+ link option).
ALSO....if you already have one or both of these memberships, you most likely qualify for a refund.

I think I'm in. May wait until BF for any deals for newbies, though.
EDIT: confirmed with AMEX.
Really loved WM+ at $50/year, have a feeling this is going to screw that up

Something went wrong
We couldn't complete your request. Please try again.
I tried again from both the Brave browser. and the Firefox browser.
I also paused the VPN on the PC and the Browser
I was able to log into both Walmart AND Sam's Club when prompted.
Guess I'll try Later.
Maybe the issue is because with Walmart and Sam's, I use a different email address for each.
