I have both but W+ on my name and Sams+ in SO's name, so can't link them for refund 😂
Edit: just linked both accounts from W+ app. All it asked was Sam's Club login/pwd and issued refund for prorated W+ membership. I had used Amex offer for W+, so Amex may take back the credit but I'll still get some back. So that's a win.
Community Reviews
This bundle ties Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus together, with account linking unlocking the other membership at no extra cost in some cases and prorated refunds on the membership being replaced. The strongest appeal is convenience, since the combined plan can simplify renewals and keep both sets of perks in one place. Reported benefits include free shipping, delivery, curbside pickup, fuel savings, and Sam's Cash. The main catch is that pricing is inconsistent, with some accounts showing full $120 charges, lost promo rates, or small refunds instead of the expected $22 add on. It looks best for anyone already using both memberships and willing to sort out the linking details.
Linking Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus accounts can trigger an instant prorated Walmart+ refund.
Existing Sam's Club Plus members can activate Walmart+ through the Sam's app pop-up without an extra charge.
Account linking can update renewal timing so Walmart+ benefits align with the Sam's Club Plus renewal schedule.
Walmart+ benefits can be shared with a household member using the manage membership sharing link.
Upgrade pricing can appear inconsistent, with the "as little as $22" offer not matching the checkout charge.
Renewal charges can show higher amounts than the special offer, leading to cancellation and later reappearance of the $49 deal.
Linking can fail or mis-link accounts when emails or account details do not match, sometimes requiring customer service.
American Express statement credits may be canceled or not combine with the joint membership when Walmart+ is funded monthly.

It does remove the annual dance of making a new account which isn't worthless, but I'm not sure it's that amazing of a slickdeal. Great for set it and forget it folks though.
Edit: reading it again, it seems like the play is to make WM+ your "main" by adding on Sam's for $22, then hope that you can still get the occasional $49.99 base renewal offer when canceling. It sounds like if you link existing accounts for both then Sam's becomes your main at $120/year, and I haven't personally seen discounted renewals when canceling with Sam's.
Add to that Amazon has "lost" two of my packages recently. WTF?? I had to contact Amazon to get a refund, and even though they've agreed to refund I have yet to see it.
Amazon also holds packages in order to see if they can combine orders if you happen to order anything a few days later.
