I have both but W+ on my name and Sams+ in SO's name, so can't link them for refund 😂
Edit: just linked both accounts from W+ app. All it asked was Sam's Club login/pwd and issued refund for prorated W+ membership. I had used Amex offer for W+, so Amex may take back the credit but I'll still get some back. So that's a win.
Community Reviews
This bundle links Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus into one annual plan, and the strongest draw is getting both memberships tied together with prorated refunds when the accounts line up. The linking flow is usually done through the Sam's or Walmart app, and several accounts showed instant refunds or no extra charge after linking. The main catch is pricing math that often does not match the advertised $22 add on, with charges ranging from a few dollars to the full annual amount depending on renewal timing and account setup. It is a useful consolidation if the memberships already fit your routine.
Account linking can trigger a prorated Walmart+ refund after entering Sam's Club login details.
Some upgrades show Walmart+ as included with no extra charge when linking an existing Sam's Club Plus membership.
Linking can align renewal timing so Walmart+ expires when Sam's Club Plus expires unless re-signed.
Walmart+ benefits can appear instantly after linking accounts in the Walmart experience.
Upgrade pricing can mismatch expectations, with some flows showing as little as $22 but charging around $48 instead.
Prorated refunds can be much smaller than expected, including cases showing only a $7 refund after renewal.
The bundle can auto-renew and may charge for another year if membership cancellation is not completed before expiration.
Linking can interfere with American Express statement credits, even when Walmart+ is provided at no additional cost under the bundle.

I tried linking the two off the announcement page in OP and it wanted to charge me $120/year. So the deal isn't really gonna work for Amex Platinum members, since the WM+ offer is for monthly payment, not annual payment. Too bad, woulda been a nice side perk to get a sams club membership for only an extra $22 a year.
I'm in a rural area, so other memberships like Target 360 and Kroger Boost are basically worthless. And Costco is way too far away to make it a regular trip. I've gotten my money's worth out of both Walmart and Sam's Club Plus memberships, but I did sign up for AARP a while back to get discounted Walmart+. But hey, I'll take free!
