I have both but W+ on my name and Sams+ in SO's name, so can't link them for refund 😂
Edit: just linked both accounts from W+ app. All it asked was Sam's Club login/pwd and issued refund for prorated W+ membership. I had used Amex offer for W+, so Amex may take back the credit but I'll still get some back. So that's a win.

This bundle ties Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus into one annual membership, and the main appeal is getting both perks with a simple account link and, in many cases, a prorated refund on the unused Walmart+ portion. The linking process is often described as quick through the Walmart or Sam's app, and some accounts show instant access with no extra charge. Pricing can be inconsistent, though, with checkout sometimes showing $48, $53, $78, $95, $109, or the full $120 instead of the advertised add on price. It also appears to conflict with some existing discounts and American Express credits, so the final cost depends heavily on account setup and timing.
Linking Walmart+ and Sam's Club Plus can trigger an instant prorated refund for the Walmart+ portion.
Account linking can complete through the Sam's Club app or Walmart app pop-up without an extra charge.
Some setups align Walmart+ expiration with the Sam's Club Plus renewal date after linking.
Walmart+ benefits can appear immediately after linking, making the bundle feel usable right away.
Upgrade and add-on pricing can show higher charges than the advertised $22 amount during linking.
Linking may interfere with American Express statement credits or Amex offer expectations for Walmart+.
Renewal offers can be removed when combining the $49 Walmart+ renewal with the Sam's Club add-on, leading to full-price renewal charges.
Auto-renewal can continue for another year unless cancellation happens before the membership expires.

I tried linking the two off the announcement page in OP and it wanted to charge me $120/year. So the deal isn't really gonna work for Amex Platinum members, since the WM+ offer is for monthly payment, not annual payment. Too bad, woulda been a nice side perk to get a sams club membership for only an extra $22 a year.
I'm in a rural area, so other memberships like Target 360 and Kroger Boost are basically worthless. And Costco is way too far away to make it a regular trip. I've gotten my money's worth out of both Walmart and Sam's Club Plus memberships, but I did sign up for AARP a while back to get discounted Walmart+. But hey, I'll take free!
