This Walmart and Sam's Club bundle mainly adds convenience for people who already use both memberships, with account linking often activating Walmart Plus right away and sometimes triggering a prorated refund on the existing Walmart Plus plan. The combined program is described as a $120 annual setup, and the upgrade can be as little as $22 only in some cases, depending on current renewal timing and whether Walmart Plus is already discounted. The main catch is that pricing is inconsistent across accounts, with some seeing much higher charges or losing existing promo rates. Linking can also affect Amex credits and other subscriptions, so the math needs a careful check before proceeding.

  • Upgrade pricing can differ from the advertised "as little as $22" amount and may show higher charges like $48 or $53.11.

  • Renewal offers can conflict during linking, such as losing a $49 Walmart+ renewal rate and being charged full renewal amounts.

  • Prorated refunds can be small depending on timing, including cases showing only a $7 refund.

  • Linking can fail when the Sam's Club Plus membership has expired, which blocks activation of the bundled Walmart+.

You could get Sam's club for $15 every other month, sometimes throwing a $20 store credit on top of it. They were begging you to join.

How paying $22 extra on top of useless Walmart+ is such a great deal? What is the hype.

I agree Amazon needs competition, but W+ is not it. Not to mention their horrendous CS
we are getting sams-plus here-- so that costs more ....

Thanks! I had the $49 offer to renew walmart+ on Nov 3rd and my Sam's Club+ membership was due to renew at $120 on Nov 2th. I had actually been thinking that it's silly they don't have offers for membership to both and was on the fence about renewing Sam's. I got a small refund of $4.06 for my walmart+ membership. I went through the walmart app hoping it would apply the $49 + $22 for a total of $71, but it looks like it removed the $49 renewal rate offer and it will be charging me $120 for renewal of both on 11/2. Still saving me money, but I might try my luck reaching out to Walmart customer service to dispute since I have documentation of the $49 renewal rate offer and see what happens.
If I have wm+ renewing for $49 next month not $98.. $22 is supposed to be the difference between wm+ at full price and Sam's club .but it's showing $120, which means I'm effectively losing the $49 wm+ discount for next year

So is my total cost supposed to be $71 for next year?

I was already paying for both so this is a great deal. It prorated my refund for Walmart+ and updated renewal to my Sam's membership.

Linked my WM account on Sams, but when I log in on Walmart.com, it's prompting me to rejoin WM+. Any suggestions?
I ran into this... turns out my login was the secondary account and the primary was my wife. Logged into her account to link and no issues.

it was a special offer from a month or so ago?
I guess I missed that. Unless that was only targeted to certain customers.

Just open the Sam's club app; there will be a message to link your Walmart account to get Walmart+ on your Walmart account.

Looks to be prorated?? It shows $48 for me and would expire end of next June... So it's $120 extra a year for Sam's on topof Walmart+ I already PAID FOR... no savings at all... or is my math off??

Same here, looks like full $120 extra add on price for Sam, just prorated to coincide with whenever your current Walmart+ membership ends. LAME!!!

I was tempted on linking but I'm not planning on keeping my Sam's Club membership and Walmart plus under AARP renewal is super cheap. Don't want to lose that

Isn't that deal for 50+ only good for the first year?
