I doubt it. Flashforge has this market undercut so hard. Even Creality released a cheaper K1

We'll have to see what Elegoo announces/demos at Formnext Conference next month..

I'm hoping for a tool changer or even better, and upgraded CC2 with with a 4 filament hotend like the Creality SparkX i8 printer. 😇

I hope Elegoo releases something multi-toolhead soon. From the three printer brands I own, their CS has been the best when I needed it and I wouldn't hesitate to order a multi-head if they release one. I like the SparkX i8 but for me, I decided to pre-order the k3 instead (yes, I know it's a lot more $) as it has too many things I wanted that the i8 does not (multi-nozzle size in one print, TPU, Mixed filaments within a print, no color bleed...)

The CC1 in a lot of ways is my favorite printer and also the one I paid the least for. I have the CC2 as well. I'm going to have to offload one of my printers to make room for when my K3 ships and not sure which one to move as I like them all lol Smilie

Can someone tell me if this would be a good entry level 3D printer for my family? I have never 3D printed anything, but I am sure my kids have.

I'd go for the $140 on sale Flashforge Adventurer 5m. They're similar. This one is a little bigger. I personally run nothing but centauris but I wouldn't consider them as plug and play as the other mentioned. They do look nicer though.

Keep in mind this is the Centauri not the Centauri Carbon. Easy to mix the two up. Centauri is unenclosed.

I think he meant K3, which is a tool changer, but it is not cheaper. K1 is an old printer that is hot-garbage.

People might not like my reply, but go get a Bambu printer. It is the only brand that is really plug and play. A printer like this will bring frustrations, killing their interests in 3D printing and maybe even STEM all-together. I don't like the Bambu company, but their printers are the best for beginners.

Way off topic, but the number of engineering interns I've dealt with post-covid that are incapable of handling any sort of adversity or challenge whatsoever makes me want to pull my hair out. Kids need guidance, not constant hand-holding.
