Community Reviews
This propane weed burner is a simple, low cost tool for torching weeds and other small growth, with a piezo igniter that lights easily and a flame strong enough for patio cleanup, cobwebs, and even lighting a ground level fire pit or barbecue. It works best on dry, broad leaf weeds and can kill plants by briefly heating the base rather than burning everything down. Green, stubborn, or taller weeds may take repeat passes and use a lot of propane, so fire safety matters and the flame can be hard to judge in daylight.
The piezoelectric clicker igniter produces a spark reliably after turning the knob to release fuel.
The torch can work well for indoor cobweb removal when you need quick flame-based cleanup.
The burner can be effective for patio weeds and growth when it lights and burns as expected.
A technique that focuses flame on the weed base for a few seconds can cause withering and death without chemicals or digging roots.
Weeds can regrow within a few weeks after repeated torching sessions.
Effectiveness can be limited on weed types beyond broad-leaf plants, so results are not guaranteed.
Green or smaller weeds may take a long time to burn down to roots and can consume a lot of propane.
The torch generates high heat and creates a clear fire hazard that requires strong safety precautions.

So, here it is.
You don't need to incinerate the whole weed plant to get rid of it.
Only a small part in the base needs to be "cooked" enough for the whole plant to die.
Focus the flame at the base for few seconds and then move on.
The next day, you'll see the plant start to wither and die off.
This is a weed control method that doesn't use chemicals and doesn't require you to dig up roots.
Put on your hat, grab a beer, and start torching the terrible weed in your yard.
Drag it out at dusk or after dark for an awesome show! I used it several times in full daylight and didn't realize that I couldn't see the extent of the flame until I used it at night. It'll give you an appreciation for how dangerous it can be, also.
