I take a black light when traveling and staying at hotels to check the bedsheets when I first get in. Most places were fine, but you still get those few places.....

I tried using this for that, and nothing shows up. So either this doesn't work for that, or there's something wrong with me. I specifically tested afterwards so I knew it should be there, lol.

Lol, ok ...
I guess in the post above yours, they ask about specific wavelengths, so maybe you just got a purple light and not a real blacklight?

That must be it then. This is the exact one I bought, so it must just be a purple light. It wouldn't light up/detect dog urine either.

I would say fake purple light. I tried this on dog urine (wet and dried) and other "bodily fluids" that I knew were present (wet and dried), and got nothing.

Typical. I have some 365 nm LEDs and they're white light with a hint of purple, but they light up anything that will fluoresce.

yeah tried it myself too after getting it today can't light up bodily fluid.
