Amazon Grocery ground beef is a convenient same day option for chili, burgers, and other basics, with USDA inspected 80 percent lean, 20 percent fat meat that has drawn strong ratings and repeat buys. The price can be very good when the $2.99 per pound deal and occasional $5 coupon line up, and the quality and flavor have matched grocery store and Costco ground beef in past orders. Availability and pricing vary by area, with some carts showing higher per pound prices or no deal at all. Country of origin is not clearly shown, which leaves a lingering mystery meat concern for some shoppers, especially once shipping is added.
Some areas show the item as available at the deal price, and inventory can vary by warehouse or local area.
The deal can include a random $5 coupon on the product page, which may lower your effective cost.
USDA inspection and passing are mentioned, and the product is described as having strong Amazon review ratings with large review volume.
Past purchases at the same price reportedly matched grocery store and Costco ground beef quality and flavor.
The deal price can vary by account and location, with some areas showing $7.36 per pound or higher and others showing it as unavailable.
Country-of-origin labeling is unclear in the listing discussion, which raises concerns about getting "mystery" beef.
The effective price can rise to nearly $4 per pound after adding shipping, which reduces the savings versus earlier $1 to $2 per pound pricing.
Free same-day delivery may require adding other items to reach the $25 minimum, even for Prime members.

Canadian lean beef trimmings is what was in circulation over the last 10 years until the new tariffs this year. Additionally the 2001 ban on Argentinian beef was imposed after Foot and mouth disease (virus) was found in the supply, after Argentina started vaccinated their cows against it the meat was slowly reintroduced, yet restricted by a strict USA tariff, until now. Even China passed on importing this current meat they are selling. LOL no thanks
