Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

Audio Science Review recommended these at their $150/ea, $300/pair price point in 2020. However, they also noted an audible hiss that can be heard until 2ft from the speakers. Makes me hesitant to grab these for desktop use. Full writeup here:

These are a solid deal at retail price. Fantastic deal! If you need monitors definitely grab these. They also have the 8 inch for 150 if you have the space and want the extra bass extension. Considering they are this price on multiple marketplaces I would assume they're releasing a new model soon. Regardless, this makes it by far the best budget studio monitor on the market rn.

No, need to be pretty close. Great for keyboard or PC. Just add a sub.

I ended up getting the 5" version of these speakers after listening to a bunch of reviews comparing these to the 6" and 8" versions. The 5s for whatever reason sound better imo. I paired JBL LSR310s sub with it and man this is one impressive set. Gets crazy loud and sounds sooo good. I record metal music and just run my axe fx iii directly through these with stereo xlrs and it beats having a practice amp by miles. Highly recommend the JBL 305p MKII speakers.
