The AW3225QF stands out as a 32 inch 4K 240 hertz QD OLED gaming monitor with excellent image quality, strong HDR, and a mild curve that helps with glare and feels natural for long sessions. The eARC port is a real bonus for routing audio, and the panel has held up well in long term use with no visible burn in in several heavy use reports. The main cautions are OLED care and platform quirks, since the screen can pick up micro scratches, DSC cannot be disabled, and Mac use needs manual HDR toggling. It is a polished high end display, especially if you want OLED contrast and can drive it with a strong GPU.

Common Questions (5)

  • It has reported no visible burn-in after 18 months to about 2.5 years of heavy daily use, including static taskbars and photo editing. The QD-OLED panel still benefits from normal care, but long-term ownership reports are reassuring.

  • At $780, it is considered a strong price for this 32-inch 4K 240Hz QD-OLED, especially compared with earlier purchases around $810 or $680 after coupons and cashback. Some newer 32-inch 4K 240Hz OLEDs have been seen in a similar price range, so the value depends on whether you want this specific Alienware model and its features.

  • No, DSC cannot be disabled on this monitor. If DSC control is a requirement, a different model such as an MSI option may be a better fit.

  • It is G-Sync Compatible over standard VRR and uses VESA AdaptiveSync, so VRR should work with AMD cards like the RX 9070 XT. It does not have a dedicated G-Sync module and is not FreeSync Premium branded.

  • It has 1 DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC, 2 HDMI 2.1 FRL ports, and one HDMI port supports eARC passthrough for audio systems. It also includes USB upstream/downstream ports plus USB-C downstream charging.

I've had this now for ~2.5 years.
73% brightness.
Static windows taskbar.
~12 hours use per day.
no burn in I can tell. it's my main work/gaming monitor. I personally love it and find the very mild curve helpful and no issue.

Cannot disable DSC on these. Just a heads up if that is a need. MSI might be a better option if that's needed.

I have a 4x monitor setup and no issues with it curved. 27's on the left and right and 24 up top above the alienware.

Had mine about a year and a half. It's the end boss of monitors as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure something better will come along at some point, but who cares? It's so good that my eyes probably couldn't appreciate something better.

Best monitor ever made IMO. It's perfect. I think I got them cheaper on a past deal that involved credit card offers, but still a great price. I have 2 that I run side by side

Does this monitor have GSync hardware? I'm assuming this monitor meets requirements for FreeSync Premium. I find it surprising dell wont pay for FreeSync certification so their potential customers have to dig to find out if their AMD features are fully supported.

This is one of the many reasons why I am looking for a for an upgrade from the AW3420DW. It's physically incapable of supporting FreeSync because of the required Gsync hardware (that and its as ancient as I am. I mostly couch game on my LG OLED TV now because I am spoiled with the HDR, real contrast, refresh rate and FreeSync support so it's hard to go back to this IPS monitor).

My prior gpu was the 1080Ti 11GB. It's been a real trooper but has on its last legs for a few years now so I purchased an RX 9070XT and need a monitor upgrade that matches well.

Obviously I've been out of the market for a while so I'm probably just clueless at this point. Thinking I'm better off with a 32" non uw paired this gpu. A decade of uw gaming has been great but frustrating when so many games won't support 21:9 when it looks so good

I have it. I love it. I actually really benefit from there being eARC so I can play sound and music through audio system. I don't have complaints about moderate ambient brightness, or even higher ambient brightness. Bought it on release, no burn in. Used every day, including some photo editing.

How is this unfortunate? Wouldn't having this curved be better if you have a dual monitor setup? What is your other monitor?

Seems like 2 monitors that are 32'' flat would be hard to look at compared to 2 monitors that are 32'' curved?

I got it for $810 last June before cash back. The difference back then was the cash back sites plus the dell Amex deals and dell coupons going around.

No G-Sync module. It's G-Sync Compatible, which works over the standard VRR protocol. It isn't FreeSync Premium branded, but it is VESA AdaptiveSync certified, which is the same underlying tech, so VRR will work fine with your 9070 XT. No module also means none of the AW3420DW's lock-in problem.

(that's via Claude but I have this monitor and was going to answer "yes" to the first part lol.
