The flat plug is a nice touch, especially behind furniture

I don't know why Amazon allow these products. I haven't seen any other store selling electrical products without UL/ETL listing.

It shows ETL on the bottom of the surge protector, unless they have started shipping new ones without it

They would advertise the certification if it were real. It costs money to get certified.

100% this. We had bad storms/electrical surge earlier this year. I'm someone who didn't always care/bought a few cheap power strips for office, basement, etc (majority of ours had safety certification).

Electrical surge caused~$27k worth of damages to our house and we were scared to death we had a house fire with all the smoke from blown appliances/items that were plugged into wall or crappy power strips. The majority of our strips and surge protectors did their job. Multiple blew/partially melted.

Moral of the story: don't ever cheap out to save a few bucks on anything that isn't safety certified. Also, make sure you have appropriate home insurance coverage; we were fortunate and had 100% coverage + got full replacement on everything

the review photos show the back of this strip. seems to say conform to UL standard and certified CSA.

What's the clamping voltage on these? I assume these are basically just power strips -- and the 12-outlet one seems to be a decent configuration for a power strip.
