This is a budget native 1080p projector that stands out for dark-room use, with solid picture quality for the price, mechanical focus and keystone, and handy flip and rotation controls for ceiling mounts or rear projection. It also works well for casual gaming, Halloween projections, and other simple setups, especially on a white wall or screen in a basement or bedroom. Brightness is limited at 240 lumens, so it looks best with the lights off and can wash out in daytime. The built-in Bluetooth has noticeable delay, and the lack of auto keystone or zoom is a common annoyance, making it a practical starter projector if those tradeoffs are fine.

  • Mechanical focus and keystone adjustments help produce a sharp enough image for casual viewing.

  • The projector includes flip and rotation controls for ceiling mounting or rear projection setups.

  • The 240-lumen output can work well in a small dark bedroom when the throw distance matches the intended screen size.

  • The projector can deliver a noticeably better picture than older 480p equipment for sub-$30 use cases.

  • The projector lacks auto or remote keystone and zoom, which can make windowless or angled setups frustrating.

  • The built-in Bluetooth connection can introduce significant delay that makes syncing harder for media playback.

  • Brightness can wash out during daytime viewing, so the image works best at night with blinds closed.

  • Image sharpness can be inconsistent across the screen, with one area sharp while other areas stay blurry.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I paid $6 more for this a couple of day ago. It is actually impressive for the price. A button controls flip and rotation so you can ceiling mount it and/or do rear projection. Mechanical focus and keystone. You do need a source, so I used a ROKU stick that I have lying around. Decently bright, and the resolution is solid.

Not premium, but great for the price.

I paid like $42 for this on Sept 29. It's nice overall but basic.

I paid about twice this amount and was impressed for the price.

It isn't super bright. It's okay during the day with blinds closed, but best used at night with no light bleeding into the room if you don't want a really washed out image.

built in bluetooth has horrible delay. if you are connecting a streaming device or media player to it, sync the bluetooth speaker to that device and not the projector.

image latency is low enough for casual gaming. I wouldn't play COD, but single player action games and RPGs should be fine.

For $30 its a no brainer if you are looking for a starter projector.

bought this last year for $76 for some Halloween projections, been happy with it for that purpose, got a 120" screen a month ago from Woot for $35 and it works great with it in our basement (lights off), been quite happy with the price and for $30 I bought another for this Halloween's projections, now I can run something else in another window

This is perfect for an outdoor theater. I have 4 rowdy nieces and nephews and I won't mind them horsing around this. The reviews seem good as long it last me at least 5 ousoor movies next summer. I'm good

My daughter uses this brand in her garage with her exercise equipment. I purchased 2 Vankyo units via Slickdeals and have been impressed with the image quality of each. The first is a Vankyp Leisure 570S and it has 200 lumins. It is OK and very portable. I purchase a 100 ft fabric screen for a little over $10. The projector was about $27, but had been lower, like around $15+.

The second, that I like better, is the Vankyo V700 Pro and it puts out 720 lumins tops and came with a 120 foot fabric screen. The detail and brightness of the V700 is very good. It is a larger unit but also has Google TV built into it. I paid around $50+ for this unit, but for the small difference in price, I think it is the better value. Both are refurbs or returns. They both work fine.

There are a lot of good deals on ebay and the best always show up on Slickdeals.

I bought this before at returned it. I could not get a sharp picture across the whole screen. One part would look good and the rest blurry. Refocused it and it was the opposite.

Some heuristics I have picked up that can indicate inauthentic reviews:
  1. A person has bought the product for someone else, usually a relative and usually as a gift
  2. A downside of the product is mentioned which is common amongst all of the other competing products at the same price point
  3. The reviewer paid more for the product and even with the current lower price finds it to have been worth it
  4. The reviewer mentions the specific brand and model in an artificial or awkward way
  5. The reviewer has owned the product for an amount of time very specifically mentioned
These indicators are the product of my own experience and are my own opinion. The presence of these indicators does not constitute proof of anything, it is merely a signal that you may want to look at the review with a bit of a critical eye.

I've bought this twice before. One review says it's not same model and smaller size. But for previous model I'd say it's worth it under $40

How does this model compare to each of the 2 Vankyo projectors you've bought?
