Adjustable Voltage Supply (AVS), a dynamic power protocol built into the USB Power Delivery (USB PD 3.2 / EPR) standard
There are two versions of the A121D 45W charger. The older version / non-iPhone 18 does not support firmware updates. Meaning it won't recognize / display the phone model for anything above the 17 pro. The new version of this advertised as 18 pro compatible supports the OTA firmware updates. Mostly for phone identification on the display, but could be other updates in time.
