Community Reviews

The Logitech Ergo M575S is a thumb trackball built for comfortable desktop use, with strong ergonomics and a shape that can be easier on carpal tunnel than a standard mouse. It is praised for long-term comfort and solid everyday pointing, though it is not meant for gaming and could use more buttons or multi device Bluetooth pairing. The main cautions are button reliability and the need to keep the ball and sensors clean when movement gets finicky. It is a practical ergonomic pick if you want a low strain mouse for regular work.

Common Questions (5)

  • The buttons can develop phantom double-clicking or fail to register clicks over time. If that happens, the mouse may need replacement rather than just a price drop being worth it for long-term use.

  • Clean the trackball and the sensors regularly, especially when dust or lint builds up and cursor movement starts feeling inconsistent. Checking and cleaning the ball sensors is the first maintenance step before assuming the mouse is failing.

  • It can be a strong ergonomic fit for extended desktop use and may not trigger carpal tunnel the way other mice do. It is still a thumb trackball, so it is better suited to office work than gaming.

  • The basic Ergo can be propped up with a DIY wedge or block, but it will not be as stable as the Ergo S Plus with its built-in wedge. The Plus model is the cleaner option if you want a more pronounced angle.

  • It is not a good gaming mouse, but it works well for desktop use. The thumb trackball design is better for everyday pointing than fast, precision gaming.

Target has the black one with blue track ball for same price. Add in CB and Circle rewards and your OTD price is lower after all offers

Go with either the Ergo S Plus with the wedge (a more expensive option), or the vertical (can be very inexpensive). The Ergo is not nearly as ergonomic as vertical.

I had the ergo non-plus model and I could not deal with it well. I rigged my own prop up to make it have a better angle, but it was not as nice as the real thing I now have. So you might be able to rig this basic ergo model to some degree. Maybe get a 3D-printed block to set under it, but it won't be as stable as the Plus.

Just a heads up about the vertical MX mouse. It's great when it works but after time it suffers from phantom double clicking. Putting out $80 every year or two for an ergonomic mouse is not worth it to me.

I remember when these used to be like $15-17 each. I got a bunch, each time because they would inexplicably fail and get replaced. At $40 and the quality, it's not likely going to last.

PS, remember to clean the ball and the sensor if it's not working that great, but it's likely to have issues within short time. Likely planned obsolesce...

In between. I have the model of above this and it tilts so you can use it flat or at about. 30degree angle. It's a base with a magnet so you can switch on the fly depending on what you want.

I was never a fan of their thumb trackballs, I liked the one that had a big center trackball in the center but those have all but vanished. Kensington still makes them but I don't like them as much as the old logitech one I had. No good for gaming but for desktop use it wasn't bad

found it on ebay... trackman vista. woah that takes me back. Before scroll wheels were a "thing"

My favorite pointing device ever. Wish it had a couple more buttons, and could pair to more than one device via bluetooth, but I've pretty had pretty good luck with them over the years in terms of longevity, and as far as ergonomics go, they're the only thing I've used over an extended period of time that doesn't trigger my carpal tunnel.

This is usual Logitech, which I why I refuse to go for any of their mechanical switches, but their optical switches lasts. Same goes for optical scroll wheels. Go with optical for longitivity.

Hope Logitech fixed the buttons on this. Mine will sometimes double click or not click at all.
