this frontpage deal is back. should be upvoted again. also 48GB/1TB version is $400 off for $2999. not as good of a deal as the base ($500 off) but if you need the more ram, storage, gpu cores and the increased Memory bandwidth, its a solid deal

with large restocks at local MC, i would imagine this might be nearing the last time this might be discounted like this until next iteration

Anyone successfully PM at BB? Tried once and online agent said they can't override the PM. Said I should go to the store. I'm not sure what they mean but I'm guessing $500 difference is too much?

Just successfully did online.

Tried last time in store and manager lady refused to do anything over 5% lol... though by the time I got there in the evening MicroCenter website was showing OOS

If you want a desktop computer, sure. If you want to do anything significant with AI, you need 256gb right now, and even that's tight. The pace of mac AI development is GLACIAL.

Currently developing on an MacBook 16 inch M1 pro. Have multiple instances of Claude code. And wondering if this machine will do anything for me over what I have? Also want to know what devs are doing running multiple local LLM's where a 256gb is required vs. using open router …. Maybe I'm missing something I need to get with it.
