The Ultimate 3-Mode is actually the first generation (the 3 refers to XBOX (wired), PC, and Mobile).
so it really should be 8Bitdo Ultimate 1, 3-Mode version.
the Ultimate 2 wireless works for PC, Mobile but not XBox, it is newer than Ultimate and better in the hardware spec.
the Ultimate 3 is actually full featured second generation of Ultimate 3-Mode in the sense that it support everything the 3 Mode does (wireless for xbox). so in reality it should be called Ultimate 3 3-Mode (if they want to keep the 3 Mode in the names)
so if 8Bitdo actually want to de-clutter their name with their random 3-mode badge.. just drop them for all, or add them for all, don't add to some of the product line.
Took me longer than it should to get the right software to recognize the controller. Note, you need 8Bitdo Ultimate Software X for X-Box controllers. Why? No clue. The other software V2 would not find it on Bluetooth, wired or 2.4Ghz adapter.
It does work wirelessly on the Xbox but you need an adapter X-Magic or something for it to work. Wired obviously works fine. Their software doesn't even tell you the battery left while on 2.4Ghz, seems crazy.
Sounds like I'm knocking it - paid probably 50 for it a year ago, it's quality just a shame the battery isn't replaceable at all.
