The Magnus CAS "Lion" paddle is a beautiful paddle. It always gets a second or third glance whenever it's on the court. However, the carbon abrasion surface (CAS) means it's a spray on abrasion to give it its grittiness which unfortunately means it will wear down much faster than a raw carbon fiber weave surface, therefore the CAS will lose its grip and spin on the ball much faster. Also, the shorter handle on the Magnus will favor those from a ping pong background who do a one-handed backhand only, but those who want to learn the "twoey" are better of getting the elongated paddles. In summary, If you want a paddle to show off and perform well on spins for just a couple months, get the Magnus CAS, if you want more durable spin, control and two-handed backhands, get an elongated carbon fiber paddle.

These sure are ugly...but good prices for those who don't care. I'd go for the "kiddie alligator" one!

I have this paddle, bought it a couple of years ago when it was on sale for prime day. This better is great for when you start but you grow out of it quickly. No grit on the face of the paddle. I'm trying to sell mine now.

I have the McGuffin from Prime Day. It's a very light weight paddle. Too light for me. I ended up adding 12 grams of lead tape to it. I bought it because it is edgeless but this also makes it less durable. It gets a lot of compliments on the looks, but the paddle itself doesn't excel at anything, besides being very light weight if you lack arm strength. This is the lowest price I've ever seen, for $20 it's definitely worth it.

This is a good paddle. They're blowing it out because it's an older generation.

For those still wanting to buy the beautiful gold "lion" paddle, here's the link to same paddle that's still available at the same site for the same price: https://www.sierra.com/joola-tyso...e~p~14gp4/

It seems just the top (gold) one is. The rest are still live.
