Bottom line up front: I'd be genuinely concerned with longevity at this point.
These aren't "refurbished"....they're used. Nothing has been done to replace, repair, or verify any components other than a wipedown with a damp cloth and basic power test.
This is a six year old machine with the "M1" cpu -- first generation of the "M"-series processors. To say it's dated is an understatement, given the current generation is the "M5", with some devices even having an "M6" cpu. Needless to say, future software support for this cpu may be limited.
Speaking about the future -- it's a six year old piece of hardware! It's their entry-level machine -- not even their better-constructed "PROFESSIONAL" tier laptop. Nope. Entry-level.
You should fully expect things to be failing or ready to fail. These ultra-thin machines unfortunately run hot, and heat is the enemy of electronics. Apple says this model uses "passive cooling" -- that's cheap-speak. Let me translate that to normal: they were too cheap to put a FAN in it.
(Which is kinda funny, since this model is called "AIR" -- yet not one little bit of air is cooling it.)
Six years on a battery is also a long time -- do not be surprised if it starts getting "puffy" (expanding uncontrollably) in the coming years. With all things considered, there are probably fewer years ahead of this machine than behind it.
Even with the better-than-standard 16gb of ram (8gb was normal for this model), you better believe that SSD was hit for swap like it owed money! I'd have serious concerns over SSD longevity.
Finally -- the "Allstates" warranty is barely worth the paper its printed on. Fully expect hassles if your machine gives up the ghost in the coming year.
