I'd encourage you to look up polyester in clothing and microplastics -- there are actual research papers that investigate how they shred in clothing specifically.

But if you assumed plastics are all the same, I'd also encourage you to look up what PM2.5 is and why it matters, both in general and in this context.

Not only that, but polyester as a garment is just terrible. It doesn't breathe and retains smells like crazy. As a temporary athletic garment it may work, but for lounge clothing it's just terrible.


Companies use it as a cost-cutting measure instead of just using proper materials for their clothing. It should be shunned and discouraged.
