This is a higher model than Wirecutter's pick for best budget bar, the CL S55H.

I've had this soundbar for 1.5 years now. I got it on sale for the same exact price from Best Buy. But also used a special cashback portal deal to bring it down close to $200. It's a fantastic ballin' on a budget system for someone that wants big sound and surround sound effects but whose wife won't let them hook up wireless surround speakers behind the couch because it will 'ruin the decor.' This system makes extra sense for TCL tv owners. I have a Q Series tv and the two systems sync very nicely together and match perfectly aesthetically. Despite having a big separate subwoofer box, it's not a very bass heavy system when it's upscaling standard stereo mixes, which I prefer. But you can tweak the settings to get more oomph on the lows when needed. Overall though the system is very powerful. So much so that it would be impractical for small rooms. I use it in a medium sized room and rarely ever put the volume above 15/100. If I put it up to 30 for action movies or sports or music, it starts making my house shake lol. There's tons of surround sound options to choose from, but this is a good underrated choice. Very hard to find reviews on it. I recommend using 'game' mode most of the time for the best sound mix.
