Core Power chocolate shakes are praised for rich flavor and a milkshake like taste, with the chocolate version coming closest to chocolate milk and working well even in a mocha with a frother. The protein profile is also a draw, especially versus some other shakes, and the 12 pack is seen as a strong value when the coupon applies. The main knocks are a sweetener aftertaste, since the formula includes stevia and sucralose, and the checkout discount can be finicky or vary by account. A solid pick if flavor matters most and the coupon lands correctly.

Common Questions (4)

  • The chocolate flavor is described as very sweet, with stevia and sucralose and a slight sweetener aftertaste. It is also described as close to chocolate milk, and some shoppers call it one of the best-tasting protein shakes they have had.

  • Core Power is compared favorably on taste, while Fairlife at Costco is described as slightly cheaper per bottle with more protein and less fat and carbs. The tradeoff is that Core Power is often chosen for specific flavors or taste preference, while Costco Fairlife or Premier Protein may be the better value for macros.

  • A checkbox on the checkout page applies the 40% off, and the discount may not appear until it is selected. If the coupon still does not reflect the advertised price, the final total can come out differently than the deal post.

  • Yes. Replacing milk with the shake can make a good mocha when used with a frother.

The Fairlife shakes at Costco for like 40 cents more a bottle, but they have more protein, less fat and less carbs. If you want specific flavors (or just to try them) or don't have a Costco membership that's good, but I'd stick with the Costco ones at that point. They're the best ones I've had out there hands down.

Unless someone knows more about these than I do. I just know what's on the label.
How does the Costco version's flavor compare to the regular version?

I've only seen the Chocolate there (and had the Vanilla randomly) and they're the best tasting shakes I've had at that level of protein isolation. Personally I think they taste great as does my picky wife. But I haven't had the "regular" ones from this brand.

I have tried it (white bottles) and it doesn't taste as good as this one. This is by far the best I have found that almost tastes like chocolate milk (with little bit of aftertaste of sweetener probably). Costco used to carry this exact one and I used to buy in bulk. But they discounted and brought 42g one. And it costs almost $47 which is ridiculous price.
