Edit: Anyone interested in running Linux on this should be aware that there's an issue with the USB-C ports on this and other Acer laptops. Mostly just creates log spam, but for me also prevents mounting a type-c NVME enclosure on a kernel newer than 6.14.

To my point, the Core Ultra 7 256V and its integrated GPU (Intel Arc Graphics 140V) are very capable of playing older games (pre-2020) at higher framerates with resolutions between 1080p - 1440p. Newer, more graphically demanding games (such as Unreal Engine 5 games) are also playable at 30-50fps framerates thanks to Intel Arc's AI upscaler called XeSS (similar to DLSS).
The battery life on these are INCREDIBLE. This laptop also has a 120hz screen compared to mine which has a 60hz screen. The screen is easily the weakest part of my laptop but the screen on this one should be better and a little brighter. This laptop paired with a VRR gaming monitor is very capable of playing everything but the most demanding modern games. I personally use my PS5 for the newer demanding games because it is a more powerful machine than this laptop but for everything else I prefer to play on this laptop.
Community Reviews
The Aspire 16 AI stands out as a strong value for a thin and light laptop, pairing the Core Ultra 7 256V and Intel Arc 140V graphics with a 120Hz anti glare touchscreen and very good battery life. The chip is described as efficient and capable for older games, lighter modern titles, web browsing, Zoom, and everyday work. The main tradeoffs are the soldered 16GB memory and the 512GB SSD, which may feel tight for heavier storage needs. Costco also adds a two year warranty and 90 day return window, making it a solid long term option if those limits fit your use.
Common Questions (5)
For light use it can be fine, but 512GB fills quickly once Windows and a few downloads are installed, leaving roughly 485GB usable in practice. If you want more headroom, the main alternative mentioned is a 1TB model, though that usually comes with a weaker CPU or a higher price.
The RAM is soldered/on-package and not upgradeable, so you should buy the capacity you need up front. Acer's specs also reportedly list a maximum supported system memory of 32GB, which suggests this model is not meant for user RAM upgrades.
The Core Ultra 7 256V with Arc 140V is strong for an ultrabook: older games can run at higher settings and newer UE5 titles can be playable around 30-50 fps with XeSS. It is not a gaming monster, and Intel GPU game optimization is more limited than Radeon, but the chip is very efficient for the wattage.
Yes, $599.99 for the Core Ultra 7 256V, 16GB RAM, and 512GB SSD is widely viewed as strong value, especially with Costco's 2-year warranty. The main tradeoff is the soldered 16GB memory and the smaller SSD versus 1TB alternatives.
Yes. The USB-C ports can create log spam on Linux, and on newer kernels it may also prevent mounting a USB-C NVMe enclosure. That makes it a less straightforward choice if you plan to run Linux heavily.

Which deal is better?
EDIT: And a 90-day return here in case a better comes up during the holiday season.
You also get 2 years of warranty and can add more time with an extended warranty for $100.
There's one for 650 at best buy with a lesser processor but 1 tb storage if you need more.
It's also supposed to be made from better materials if you travel more and are concerned about that.

Where? And based on what?
I've been looking and settled on this one because the only way to get this price point with 1tb is to sacrifice and go with a weaker processor.
Closest I found was best buy has acer swift with ryzen 7 445 processor and 1tb ssd on sale for 650.
But for my usage this model made the most sense.
It should be cheaper but with costs as they are, not seeing a better deal right now.
I bought it and got it shipped with no issues. I needed a basic laptop for web browsing and zoom calls. This laptop was perfect for us and has a good processor for the price.

I think costco just adds a year.
The allstate plan adds drops and spills coverage.
